Hi all,

I ordered a single 30 ml 24 mg VG liquid and about 8 different flavors. I have now tried every one of them and love them all... they are the strongest, accurate flavors I have ever had... every one is awesome.

Problem is, my wife has banished me to the outdoors to vape anything from that order. I have been vaping Eastmall and TotallyWicked juice for over a month with no lingering smell or indication of me even being there... but these juicy liquids leave an odour in the room I vape in.. and it last for a day or more. It isn't unpleasant, but sure is noticable. Its the same odor for all of the flavors, so I tried other unflavored liquid and put the juicy flavors in, same smell... then tried the juicy unflavored VG by itself, same thing.

Can I ask this without sounding like I am complaining, because I am not. The juice is awesome, but now my wife has labelled it as an outdoor vape... lol. Has anyone else noticed this????

So, to sum it up... tastes great, smells great when vaping, not so great when it lingers for too long. Would the PG be the same?

Any chance that I could have gotten bad juice.. I think that others would have complained about it if there was a problem..

It could be your atomizer is a little funky or burning really hot.

But, VG vapor has a tendency to linger a little more than PG so it could just be you're fogging the place up!

There are about 40-50 more folks with VG from your batch and I've been vaping it all week and haven't noticed anything unusual.

After my wife complained, and I noticed it only after stepping out of the room for a while, I tried it with different attys and even an entirely different device... same thing. Oh well, I love the juice and will give it a shot again sometime and see if its the same.

Its just so frustrating to have it and not be able to vape it. I am not going outside like some analog smoker... HA.

Tell your wife that if you can't vape in the house you will have no choice but to dramatically increase the amount of beans in your diet. Then let her decide between the lesser of two evils.

That would just start a war that I would lose... she can raise the sheets about 10 inches... puts me to shame.

Anytime I see a post that says that e-cigs are odorless, I try to throw in my 2 cents, as I have yet to experience one ever that is odorless. IMO, there is a smell similar to caramelized sugar or cotton candy. I like the smell, though. I don't notice it hanging around, though. Like if we have been away from home for several hours, I don't smell it when we walk in the door. Could be that I'm used to it.. will have to check with someone who doesn't smoke or vape, like my mom, and get her to do a sniff test!

I agree.. there is an odor to all of the juices, but it usually hard to smell and even non smokers normally can't put their finger on it.. smells like the fog machines really and is almost instantly gone. Sometimes the heavy flavors can be detected... my wife always picks up on grape. This is different though. I have not vaped the JuicyLiquid I got for 2 days now and my office still has a very pungent aroma, same one I taste when vaping the liquid. I have to assume that since nobody else has noticed this (there would be serious complaints, believe me) that somehow my juice got over heated during transport or something. It did sit in my mailbox in 97 degree heat for a day and a half till we got back from the cottage and was VERY hot when I opened the package.... not sure if that could do it or not. Oh well.... live and learn. It doesn't make me feel sick or anything, so I will just take it out to the cottage this weekend and vape it all away... lol.

Edit : Out of curiousity, I vaped the base liquid by itself just now.. doesnt have the same aroma. I called my wife in and blew the vape in her face (easy now) and she said it didn't have the same smell... its the mixing liquids.. It honestly just could be one of the flavors I have since I switched between all of them vaping during the day or two.

Resurrecting this old one...........

This phenomena is happening to me too. I ordered 24mg VG Caramel Crisp and Java. The Caramel leaves a very heavy maple syrup aroma, the Java leaves a heavy and unpleasant soap aroma. Not only can my wife not stand the aromas and has told me to only use them outside, I cannot stand the aromas either. Oddly, the tastes are good.

I am using these on my V9 w/ brand new, never filled carts. None of my other liquids, VG or PG, do this.

I am glad (for my sanity) that this isn't just my nose... I just can't believe that all the juice is this way or we would be hearing it... trust me, this is a noticeable nasty smell. I would have to assume that something has happened to the VG or the mix.. but I can't figure out which. I was going to be starting up some video reviews of all my juice vendors, but think I will wait and order some more from JL and see if it does the same thing before I review it... I won't be nasty in either case, cause the juice vapes so well and tastes very very good... just leaves a nasty odor....I wish I could figure out which flavor it is for sure so I could continue vaping it.. but I am facing the wrath of my wife if that smell shows itself again...

Thank you for posting about this. I am having a terrible time with it because the aroma is so strong that 1) my family finds it very unpleasant and long lasting, and 2) strangers now turn around and stare at me when I vape trying to figure out what I am doing with the strong, cheap smelling perfume (Sorry, Jaaxx & Mrs. Jaaxx, but I had someone ask me just that).

I got a bunch of the fruit flavors, and they all seem alike to me with the same very strong smell that lingers for days. I also cannot get the smell off of the attys or cartridges I use, so they will soon be trash. I can't say much about the flavors because the odor is so overpowering that it is all I really notice.

I'm sorry that I didn't jump in sooner when I saw your post, but I had used the VG base with "regular" flavorings from Jaaxx for so long with no strong smell problem that I could hardly believe what I was experiencing.

I have no idea where Jaaxx gets his VG based flavorings, but I was fascinated by a thread here in the general vaping section about the obnoxious, long lasting smell of Dekang juices. People who posted hated it and couldn't understand why more Dekang juice people weren't posting about it. Then, it became clear that most of the people posting were VG users. I didn't post there either because I have been meaning to send a PM to Jaaxx (sorry to be doing this publicly, Jaaxx).

Now, I have a very serious dilemma. Using a VG base but a flavoring even with a little bit of PG in it gives me a horrible flair up of my fibromyalgia pain that lasts so long as I am vaping anything with any PG in it. Before I started using Jaaxx's all VG, I was taking codeine daily to be able to vape, often a number of times per day. Now, I cannot find another type of flavoring without some PG, and the aroma of this stuff is so unacceptable that I am back up to 8 or 9 analogs a day from a three month period of 5 or 6 per day. The difference may not seem like a lot, but it is very significant to me.

I know that some people can taste flavors that other folks can't taste (experiments in college basic biology class eons ago), so it is also logical to me that some people may smell things that others don't smell as strongly. I will say, though, that everyone I have vaped this stuff around has commented about the odor.

Jaaxx, is there any other option for flavoring without any PG other than wherever you are getting this VG flavoring? (I'm not saying it's Dekang, but it's something that doesn't work for some of us.) I don't know what to do and I find myself vaping less and less as I limit myself to this type of flavoring to avoid pain.

Jaaxx & Mrs. Jaaxx, I want to commend you both for caring enough about those of us who cannot use PG and working to accomodate us with VG flavoring. I more than appreciate your honest concern for us, particularly since we are a small minority of your business. I love your site and your "regular" flavors but find the pain of regular flavoring intolerable.

BTW, I could smell the strong perfume smell from the outside of the envelop when it arrived, but I hoped that it was only one thing in the group of flavorings I had ordered. Yeah, it's that strong, even through closed bottles for me. Oh, and, no, none of the other juices I have gotten from you over the months had any sort of bad odor (but the flavoring contained PG). Can you help?

Yet another follow up..........

I mixed 1 drop of Java with 20 drops unflavored VG 24mg; then mixed 1 drop Java with 30 drops of the same unflavored. The taste is actually pleasant to me at 20:1. At both levels, however, the exhaled vapor is still awful.

I haven't tried just unflavored to see if that is the culprit.

I also put a few drops of Caramel into another flavored liquid from a different supplier and - voila! - same exhale aroma.

While I like the tastes, unfortunately JL liquid is not something I can use. :(
