Jumping into the mech mods level and sub ohms

Hey guys, ive been vaping for a long time (about 4 years now) with my Mvari (lava tube knock off) and protected 18650 batts and ive previously made leaps and bounds into different cartos, tanks, drippers, then to RDA's and RBA's just because i have a bit of understanding of voltage, ohms, and resistance etc.

So here is my new setup once everything is shipped, ive got my trusty Aga T2 already, but moving away from protected batts and the Mvari and into my new orbtronics ncr18650pd (once they are ordered) and my Sigelei mech mod #13 once it arrives from preorder. i still have my smok tek Octopus RDA and plan on drilling out my air holes (have already done it on the Aga T2. **also planing on a better Charger with the batts. Ive seen a few things about the Sigelei #13 as far as the button being an issue and not just the fact that it needs a short throw, which ive planned on doing. But does any one know what other kind of issue there might be? Its never made clear on some of the other posts ive seen, all its wrapped up as "there is a problem with the button" and thats all.

**any other insight about my other parts of my setup is welcomed also.

My advice, based on recent experience, is to stack those bills until you can afford a _NICE_ mechanical MOD. Despite high demand/short supply it's worth the extra $$ and effort.

The Sigelei looks to be a good "daily driver". I use a China GG for this, but I'm always babysitting the 510 connector. Very soft & shallow threads which seems common on the China MODs. SS tanks atty's can just wreck right through brass on even the slightest cross-threading.

Don't know if the Segelei uses brass or SS on the 510 conn. tho.

Yeah, i definitely plan on getting a Mod that has renowned build quality like a EA Mech or so on, but for my first mech, i just want a decent walmart version so i can drop it, test, and play around with it and get used to it since i hear its a world difference between regulated vaping and a mech. (Mvari has the famous 3.33Mhz rattle snake so im excited to get straight volts cheap mod or other lol )

I love my Sig #8 and have a #19 coming on pre-order! EXTREMELY well made, for that price point! Far beyond what I expected. The 510 threading on my S8 seems to be solid stainless steel and the 510 pin itself is adjustable and is either stainless or aluminum. I think the #13A shares the same fire button with the #8 which basically means chrome plated brass. Most Sig owners are *lightly* sanding the chrome off to reveal brass and get a better connection (less voltage drop).

I added a new 1/16th air hole in the top most "groove" of the cap on my Smok RDA "Octopus" and wrapped 4x3mm silica with 4/5 with 28 gauge kanthal A1 for an impedance of 0.9. Hits like a monster!

I was never *completely* pleased with my AGA-T2 at higher ohms... it was good but not the "king" of my collection like I thought it should be. I tried different wicks, different coils, and drilled the air hole out to 1/16. Got my mechanical and popped 2" of new 500 ss mesh rolled solid, 5/6 of 28 gauge kanthal A1 for a final resistance of 1.1 ohms and pulse oxidized. My AGA-T2 is now my *favorite* atty, so good I immediately ordered a second one. I tried dropping one wind for 4/5 at 0.9 but it was just too touchy about fresh/stale battery condition and how hard I vaped it. 1.1 is definitely the sweet spot and I'm done futzing with it!

When you get five posts you can post in the APV section of the forum too. We have some extensive threads on Sigs and other mechs there that I highly recommend you spend some time reading up on.

Thanks Oktyabr, pretty much made me feel a bit at ease with the Sigelei 13 button thing, the octopus RDA is about where im at, (waiting on my 3mm wicks...been using hemp wicks with no real problem) but going back to silica to test between the two. the Aga...well...lol once i figure out how large i wanna drill out the wick hole on it, for what i understand, a larger wick hole=more wick=more vapor, but im not for sure, just willing to try it out and if not pftttt 24-30.00 for another aga if its not better lol.

i do wish i could get a good answer on which SS mesh is better, i am loving the higher VG ratios but cant seem to find out if 400 or 500 SS is better..any suggestions?
