This past weekend we went to my in-laws cabin and they were smoking e-cigs. She said they started out with the "short ones" and moved the "pen-style" ones after some frustration. She didn't go into detail.

After we got home, my husband and I decided we might try it out so I found this forum and have been reading it daily. I think they have the 801 model now. Can't really narrow down the short one as there are several 'mini-cigs'.

Due to price, we decided to try out the 510s first. I ordered from smokedigital dot com. Aside from some high shipping, I think their prices were very good. The starter kit with two attys, two batts, charger, and 5 pre-filled carts was $34.50 and available in all colors, not just black or white. We ended up going with one starter kit and then one more atty and one more batt to give us three of each. This should be enough to see if the 510 is a model we like, but not so much that I feel guilty for spending money needlessly. Has anyone used that vendor? I did a search but could not come up with anything. I have a feeling they may be in the UK, but I could not find anything concrete.

This was my order:
1 x Blue Joye510 E-Cig Starter Kit (Joye510 E-Ci) = $34.50
1 x Matte Black Atomizer for JOYE510 (For Joye 510) = $7.50
1 x Matte Black AUTO BATTERY for JOYE510 (For Joye 510) = $12.50
1 x 10 Piece Empty Cartridges (For Joye 510) = $2.75
Cartridge Color Black
Cartridge Mouth Piece Style Flat
1 x 10 Piece Empty Cartridges (For Joye 510) = $2.75
Cartridge Color Black
Cartridge Mouth Piece Style Round
1 x C33 Black Case for JOYE510 & M-Series (For Joye 510) = $4.50
1 x LUG2 Artistries Pink Case (Fits Joye510) = $4.50
1 x 10ml E-juice with 33 popular flavors (Dekang) = $4.50
Flavor Marlboro (USA Mix)
1 x 10ml E-juice with 33 popular flavors (Dekang) = $4.50
Flavor Menthol
1 x 10ml E-juice with 33 popular flavors (Dekang) = $4.50
Flavor Coffee
1 x 10ml E-juice with 33 popular flavors (Dekang) = $4.50
Flavor Dr. Pepper

** Now on to my question. My commute to work is all of 15 minutes. I would not vape at work, so it would be another 9+ hours before I was ready to use the 510 again. I ordered a case, but do people keep them in plastic bags or anything to try to keep the carts/attys from drying out? If I want to fill up a couple of carts ahead of time, would it be best to store them in a plastic bag?

As far as battery life goes, if I just used it for about 15 minutes in the morning, my batt should still be good for my drive home, right?

And as a final question prior to receiving anything, how does temp affect the devices? Should I make sure to bring it with me into the office and not leave it in my car? My husband wont have this option as he works outdoors? Any suggestions?

You should not need to bag it. I leave mine over night when I sleep and it's fine.

Carts come with a rubber cap that seals the juice chamber. Just fill them and cap em and pop em in the case.

You are dealing with batteries so extreemes should be avoided. Don't leave it in the car, etc... . If your husband keeps it in a pocket that gets the benefit of heat in the cold then that should be fine. If he is working in heat it should be ok.

Thanks for the reply. I really hope this e-cig stuff will work for us as I have spent OVER our cig budget for next month on these guys. (We order our cigs from out of the country, so we have to do that a month in advance.)

My husband just called and asked when our order would be in and I had to tell him that I had no idea, but was getting worried in that I didn't even know what country they were coming from. Also, with just getting the three sets, that would only leave one backup batt between the two of us. So, I had to place a few more orders today from US vendors. Unfortunately, I couldn't find everything I needed all at one place. Maybe after the Chinese holiday is over sets will be easier to find.

I ended up placing the following additional orders today.
Rocky Mountain would have gotten my entire order, but I could not find the empty cartridges. I also did not see wall chargers, so I would have had to order a PCC instead (which, if we like the 510s I will go ahead and do) Shipping was free.

1 ELIQ10CINN24 E-Liquid Cinnamon 10ML 24MG 6.00 6.00

1 ELIQ10CLOVE E-Liquid Clove 10ML 18MG 6.00 6.00

1 ELIQFLU1810 E-Liquid Flue Cured Tobacco 10Ml 18MG 6.00 6.00

1 ELIQ10CAMEL24 E-Liquid Camel 10ML 24MG 5.00 5.00

Cignot didn't have any sets in stock, but they did have the cartridges and I wanted to try out some of their e-liquid and also a decent price on the batteries. Shipping was $5.

Code Item Qty Price Total
510-CRT-PTB Joye 510 Blank Cartridges with Pyramid Tea Bag 2 $5.00 $10.00
JOY-MTH-20M Joye Menthol liquid 20ml, 24mg Nicotine 1 $12.00 $12.00
JOY-MAR-20M Joye Marlb liquid 20ml, 24mg Nicotine 1 $12.00 $12.00
510-BAT-TRE Three Joye 510 Spare Batteries
[battery1 led:blue led - manual]
[battery2 led:red led - manual]
[battery3 led:purple led - manual] 1 $35.00 $35.00

Finally found the starter set at ecigmall for $45 shipped.

So, I basically just spent another $137 in addition to the $106 I spent on Monday. I guess to come out with 5 attys, 8 batts, two cases, two wall chargers, 10 prefilled cartridges, 50 empty cartridges, and 130mg of e-liquid, that isn't too bad.

Thanks. That might be something worth mentioning to my husband as his drive to work is around 45 minutes each way. His pecan shaker might even have a cig lighter outlet in it if he is interested in doing this while at work. Currently he dips while at work. I guess we will find out how it all goes after we try this out.

I have already received my tracking number from cignot. I wish they had the kits in stock and I would have given them even more business. Only flaw is not as many color choices.

I do a LOT of driving. I carry a passthrough with a 12v cigarette lighter adapter. No batteries needed while driving.

Me too, Jim. I travel for a living. In a hotel in KC right now. I'm almost never away from the car or a computer. The passthrough is used almost constantly.

Don't know how I vaped without it.

I know you just spent a bunch of money, but I just got a protege and I love it. It gives a great amount of vapor and may be perfect for your husband, it will go about 12-15 hours of heavy vaping on one rechargeable battery. You can use your 510 atty with it.

I would imagine you will get to and from work for a while on one battery, as they get older they dont last as long. I would just keep it in my purse to avoid excessive heat.

Howdy jerrydon;
I'm in Sheboygan, WI.
I don't like using the puter for power. I overloaded the USB's a couple of times. and had to reset them. I'm using a 110v to USB adapter for the Hotel rooms.

Also, you do not want to leave liquid in your car. E-liquid is heat and light sensivite is what I have been told.

It's not recommended, but sometimes when on the road, I have no choice but to leave my juice inside my suitcase in the trunk of the car. It's gotten pretty hot at times, but still gives me good hit & vapor so far.

Thanks for the suggestion on the protege, but I don't think he would ever continuously vape at work due to him being in agriculture. (Hard to get a hand free while operating the equipment and tractors sometimes). When I mentioned a cig lighter plug in his shaker, it would be more for when he took a break or stopped for lunch. If we do get 'addicted' to vaping, I will probably consider some kind of battery mod, but I don't think we can spend as much as the protege and similar.

I will try to remember to keep my batteries with me and not leave them in the car - at least during the summer. I have a feeling that some cold won't hurt as a lot of people store their batteries in the fridge. I'm in Texas, so what we consider "cold" is probably just "mild" to a lot of folks!!
