My hubby has been bugging me for 10 years to let him purchase a mill and lathe, he wants to make his own parts for a robot he is building, he is not happy with most of the machine shops around here (not much pride in thier work and he is PICKY). I may just let him go ahead, very interesting to watch the process! He did finally teach me to weld and I LOVE it, I do alot of his welding now as he says I am much neater with it than he is and he has a whole lot of years experience

There is definately something to be said for you guys who craft your own metal items, the quality is unsurpassed!!

Metal working is a craft for sure... I like using a wood lathe to do my sanding.... much faster than my metal lathes....

Very cool! What type of lathe are you using?

For the sanding, I use a very large old Craftsman Professional.
