Ok so I don't want to get all excited about it, but.
I go to check my battery to see if the red light is green yet and all looks fine. I move the charger to pick up something else and "POP" and a white light. The charger isn't new, I believe I bought it about 9 months ago, maybe less to charge some 18650's I bought at the same time. It gets used every day. No electric heaters on the circuit, I don't abuse the thing, and I don't plug it in with the batteries already in it. OK , I did once, wasn't thinking. I don't think that would wreck it.
I know stuff happens and all that but just a reminder to everyone to be careful when handling these things. bad part is that even though it shorted on its way to being broken off it didn't trip the GFCI.
Also if anyone knows where I can buy just the cord, I would appreciate knowing. It's molded so there is no way to fix it.
I really don't think that the charger is bad, I just think the wire in the cord is undersized.
