There are a lot of things to look at, and so many choices. But you narrowed it down to a very good few.

I went with the Totally Wicked "Tornado" - which is the same thing as a regular eGo - which in turn is the same thing as a Riva 510. (Different names for similar products - mix and match)

I'm happy with my purchase, but I do wish I went with the Riva 510. From what I've heard it's just a little bit better, and it was cheaper in price.

I've pretty much decided to hold off on the BMF for now though I likely will in the future. Just out of curiosity. Will the BMF carto work with a Riva 510?

Mostly i use attys, but I've been a little curious about the Bloog cartos myself, but i haven't gotten any yet.

I believe they use KR808D threads, so they will not fit directly on a Riva 510 due to the different threading. But there are simple adapters for things like that... PV Adapters ... you'd want the 510batt-to-808/901atom ... cost a buck.

Although Bloog cartos would fit directly on a Riva 901 (use the same threads as 808D cartos, confusing i know), but then 510 attys would not fit on your Riva w/o an adapter :)

Good stuff, VM. Thanks!!
Though I do want to try the different ejuices, I'd prefer going a bit more controlled first off. For this reason cartos appeal to me, and I haven't read anything bad about the BMF cartos yet so I figure I'll start there as they are a part of the factor which make me want to get BMF set-up. I've also seen that they can actually be reused and dripped in. I'll be picking up one of those adaptors if I do decide to go the R510/,eGo route.

Just an FYI, Concerning the whole manual/automatic battery issue. I did notice that Bloog now does offer a battery that is a passthru(also charges that way) which the cable can pull off so to just take the battery with you, It then can be switched to manual or auto on the fly. It's called the Trifecta, link here

It is a recurring theme on what is best for someone just starting out.

1. ecig kit
2. atomizer, cartomizer
3. juice

What have done myself for others is purchase
1. Liberty Flights JOYE EGO 510 - SPECIAL ECF OFFER
2. LR BOGE 510(over 10 quantity discount) and 510 LR Cartomizer (BOGE)
3. BWB , AlienVisions, Vaperite (sample sizes)

note: Liberty Flights Riva's last lot has some thread plating issues that have caused some Boge LR cartomizers not to screw down....might want to avoid.

This has not been the easiest way to get it all together for folks just getting started but feel confident that it is one of the cheaper and better ways for a solid initiation. Decent battery life, good vaper/TH cartomizer and satisfying juices.

The frustration that those have that have been vaping for awhile is what should they give a friend or family member that might be interested in vaping. Most of those that are interested in vaping that you know, run across and work with in your daily life aren't going to go the ECF when you give them the link and do the research. You want to help others kick the habit like you have but it appears that there is no one economical stop & shop best packaged solution to give folks that you would feel comfortable in helping them start and stick to continuing on vaping.

What some good ejuice/hardware vendors need to do is offer an economical "Help a friend" kit that can be handed off to others without any worries that they may be lead down the wrong path and give up....solid proven battery/good cart/good variety of juice ....prefill the LR carts, I don't care, but give us an economical solution that we can feel comfortable handing off to others with minimal introduction and feel we have done right. Something around $50 seems totally reasonable to me especially for the juice vendors. If they got the good juice then the newbies will come back and their business prospers.

So far in dealing with a particular juice vendor in trying to get some reasonable sample juice prices all I got was dead air space....I know the bottom line is important but man they are making a killin on not only the sample juices but juice quantities overall!! If some of these vendors had the sense to see the bigger picture and packaged a complete one stop shop solution it would solve alot of folks problems let alone make good business sense.

Help a Friend Kit approx. $50
-eGo kit
-LR cartomizers
-6 to 9 sample juices including tobacco

Is there anyone else out there that is sick and tired of getting soaked by the eliquid vendors when trying to help set others up with ejuice? Know that going DIY is the solution to avoid the high prices but is that what we have to do, within reasonable economic means, help somebody else out? It wouldn't be so bad if you only have to help 1 or 2 people out but when it gets to be more and more it can be a burden.

oh well...frustrated and finished

Hey jed,
I can sense how it must feel when trying to set-up someone you know and get them off the cancer sticks....successfully. You want to give them a reasonable solution that in 1 link they can purchase a truly good starter kit that you already know will answer the immediate issues. Thus, getting them on the right path away from analogs and not have to take a step backwards. These noobie 'what should I get' threads are a constant reminder of that.

Well, I'm not a close friend but I'm going to add what I'm intending to get in my sig. This way with you guys help, you can at least get this one fella heading in the right direction.

Sounds like you've done as much research as I have! Tiring, isn't it?
If someone hasn't already mentioned it, the first reply that I got to my first post on ECF directed me to the six "Wonderful World of Vaping" articles, in The ECF Library

After a lot of reading, some advice from a friend (who also recommended the above articles), and looking at what seemed like hundreds of sites, here is what I just ordered from Liberty Flights as my starting point:
Steel Riva 510 - SE Edition
510 LR Atomizers - 5 pack
EGO 650mah passthru
510 blank cartridges - 2 x 5packs
Boge 510 2.0 Ohm Cartomizer - 2 x 5packs
6 vg & 6 pg 5ml juice samples

Total came to ~$130, including shipping, after the 20% ECF discount code

I filled out quite a few shopping carts on other sites, and the totals were $150 to $200 on nearly all of them, without the passthru or juices.
If their service is as good as everyone says, they will definitely be on my short list of suppliers in the future!

QUOTE=Tiger_Style;2831211]Brewz,
Just out of curiosity. Why didn't you go with the lite bundle instead? they don't have the steel option but Not much of a difference otherwise. Could have brought it down even more.[/QUOTE]

To be honest I don't know exactly. I guess I was willing to pay the extra $4.50 for the steel with chrome accents. :2cool:
