Just bought an emini e ciggerette as seen on smartsmoker.co.uk

Works ok for the first couple of minutes and then after about 10 minutes it takes loadddzzz of energy to just try and draw and get some nicotene... also there is hardly any vapor production either which sucks...

I dont know why this is but its rather anoying, i contacted support and they are sending me another anontimizer for free so hopefully that can do the trick, any suggestions what i can do in the meantime until that arrives?

key things
- Takes loads of inhales to even get some nicotene
- hardly none vapor production (even with one hole covered)

Sounds like a bad e-cigarette. There are a lot of junk "name" brands.

Let me go look at it. Oh yeah - that is the weird ecig with the bizarre carts. I don't know what that thing is. It has odd cartridges that do not look like any other e-cigarette.

See if you can return it.

Buy a real ecig - I recommend you visit liberty-flights.co.uk. Buy something that can use cartomizers and eliquid. A small one would be Joye 510 and get the MANUAL batteries for good drag and also because the manuals are sealed on the threaded end and safe from being killed or damaged by juice. And get some Boge 510 3.0 ohm (standard resistance) blank cartomizers and some eliquid (PG or mostly PG juices work best)

A big powerful one with long charge would the the Ego or the simpler Riva 510 (the Riva 510 may be stronger) and use Boge 510 cartomizers with PG juices (or mostly PG if you buy juice elsewhere). These big battery models can use the hotter Boge 510 LR 2.0 cartomizers but I recommend you learn on the standard 3.0 ones.

When you first get either you can just use the atomizer and cartridges to start. Drip some more eliquid on the cart when it needs some (and you can use PG or VG with the normal atomizer and carts). On manuals you can also use a drip tip on the atomizer to try new juices. Meanwhile learn to use cartomizers for your favorite juices. They hold more juice and work more consistently but you need to keep them damp and they have limited lives. I can get at least a week of use out of a Boge carto.

I took a look too. That is a non-typical model. If you stick with it, you may be limited to supplies only from smartsmoker, not to mention you're already having problems with it. If you go with a more popular/common model dormouse listed, you'd be able to get supplies from many sources as well as more volunteer support in forums like this one. Good luck!

That's good. You've already narrowed down the problem.

Not many people are happy with the mini' e-cigs. Almost everyone thinks that's what they want when they first start vaping - something that looks and feels and tastes like the cigarette they are used to. The problem is, nothing tastes like a cig, and nothing feels like a cig, so all you get is something that looks like a cig.

On a mini, you've got a small battery which won't last long before it must be recharged. But that battery will still weigh a lot more than a cigarette. Then you add the cart and juice. The batteries have to be recharged often, and that means they'll die (quit holding a good charge) sooner since they are being recharged more often.

No matter what PV you use, it won't taste like a cig. If you like menthol, you can get a little closer to what you are used to (the menthol flavor will cover up a lot), but even then, it's not the same.

The money you are paying for that kit is almost as much as you would pay for an eGo kit. And you are far more likely to be happy with the eGo. If it's possible to return that thing and get your money back, I would recommend it.

Newbie here, a little over 2 weeks.

I started with a junk brand and spent more $$ trying to keep that going than I'd like to think about. Bought a Riva eGo kit and - not looking back. Have not craved an analog at all. (25 year pack a day habit - cured!)

Definately go with a 510 so that you can experiment. I love being able to switch between cartomizers, atomizers and test out some of the dual coil cartomizers. Tinkering with the toys is fun for me along with trying out juices and learning what works for me.

Welcome to ECF and good luck! I'm sure you will get some solid advice here.

For the VAST majority, mini's just don't cut it. The experience you described is very typical. If you only smoked 6-7 cigarettes a day, it might work for you but I think you will waste more time and effort trying to get it to work.

Definitely get a better battery model. The eGo/Riva/E-Power are good "beginner" models. The E-Power provides the same size and performance as the Riva/eGo's but the batteries only cost $4- $5 instead of the $20 you pay for the Riva/eGo batteries and the E-Power batteries last 5 times longer. Liberty Flights carries them:

Hi, Patrick21; welcome!
If you can't return it, you might as well try and "fix" it somewhat, so it'll at least hold you over until you can get a better ecig.
I own a similar model to yours that had an unusually stiff draw. The hole in the cartridge (where you're supposed to suck vapor out of) was TINY. Literally a pinhole. I enlarged the hole to about 2mm using a sharp object and the draw and subsequent vapor production was VERY much improved.
I still recommend (as the others have posted) you get a better quality ecig, though. I also own the Joye 510 manual, and it is wayyy better than my mini m402; even after modification!

Thanks everyone for the feedback, at the moment i am deciding i am going to wait till the new atomizer comes through and see what happens, then when im bored with this or fancy an upgrade i will see what else is on the market but until i started having problems with this it was fine and had no issues with it.

The first mini I tried was like trying to suck a milkshake through a coffee stir. You had to drag on it so hard you head caved in.

For $30 at Liberty Flights you can get a really good PV with excellent draw, great battery life. It'll be like night and day from what you're probably currently experiencing. Spend the $30 for a good pv and keep this for a backup. Don't throw more money at it.

well at the moment i have 50 cartridges for this which is enough to last me around 50 days (i smoke 10 normal cigs a day before using the ecig) so when these have run out i may consider upgrading to something better and will definately use that liberty flights site as the price of everything on there costs around half of what i paid at smart smoker.

Btw i paid for the bumper pack which cost £70.00
