I have been vaping for over a year now and have never been to a meet.But I'm curious as I don't think has ever been brought up.At these meetings I take it most are in Pubs,bars w/e and with the other patrons that are smokers in the establishment do they out of curiosity come over and see what all the fuss is about and if so has anyone actually been converted to vaping at these meets? I would think that would be a great place for smokers who dont know theres an alternative to the Zybans, Champix etc. I know at the time I was smoking the stinkies and seen a group of people puffing on some tube like cigg I would be going over and seeing what the fuss is all about.

I've never been to a meet either but would be interested as long as there's booze to compliment my chain vaping, lol!
I wonder if it's ever happened where a smoker sees a bunch of vapers puffing away and thinks he can light up indoors as well, hilarity ensues...

It happened to me in a local resturant started to vape and a Chinese gentleman lit up an analog right beside me was quite comical when the manager told him to stop.I asked if I was to quit vaping he said no your allowed,he was intune to e-cigs.I can see complaints going to local gov't about vaping being allowed,but traditional smoking is banned they will prob step in and kibosh vaping as well in the mean time vape-on
The Meets in Calgary (your city) have converted people - yes - but not tons. There are the curious who head over and join the group with questions and light banter. It can be very confusing though to the uninitiated - as their are usually so many different mods, PV's, opinions - etc.
It's also held at an establishment where the owner and several staff are vapers. So regulars are already familiar with it.
It's a bit more fun, of course, when temps outside are -30 or something equally horrid - and the smokers are outside puffing away - with the vapers puffing away in warmth, enjoying company and snacking on wings...
