I took the empty refillable tip, added four drops to it, installed a fresh battery, took a few slow draws and next to nothing. Continued trying for the next half hour with very little vapor and thought perhaps i did some thing wrong - I pulled out a second atomiser and a second cartridge and re attempted the same processs. I added 4 drops of the included e-liquid into a separate and new cartridge, connected the second atomiser and installed a second fresh battery and began puffing nice and slow only to have the same results.

I went and checked the manual and it said a good way to check the performance of my unit was to run a glow test. Well I took the first atomiser and held for about 10 seconds and no glow - the second atomiser started glowing barely after about 6 seconds. The manual suggests they should light right up in 3 seconds. It went on to say if the atomiser was too wet it may not glow and the only way to remedy this was to just keep using it. I tried to drop directly on one of the atomisers as ive seen recomended in here a few times so I dont know.

Any tips or suggestions welcomed. Thank you all in advance for your responses and just wanna say how nice the forums look and how nice it is to have such a large community like this.

Best regards,

its probably the silver standard ohm that came with it? its a 3.7 device. my sugestions

1) MAKE SURE you batterys are fully charged
2) blow out atty retry test..... could be a bad atty...
3) make sure your getting a good solid connection with atty/ screwdriver, unscrew and make sure you have a solid/CLEAN connection. after a month or so of not cleaning for mw the threads get gunked up and will do that.

4) BUY LR ATTYS OR CARTOS!!!! the sd is a 901 connection, buy a $2 adapter and toss on a dual coil on that bad boy, my avatar is a liquidnator 3ml that uses 510 LR slotted boge cartomizer s.... its AMAZING

I noticed the standard ohm atty that came with it lacked some serious TH and vapor, tossed it on my 5v usb passthrough and its GREAT a LR atty will make you vaping at 9+ WATTs and its PLUMES of vapor

You say that you "I took the empty refillable tip, added four drops to it,". I think your problem is that you don't have enough liquid in your cartridge. A cartridge should hold a lot more than 4 drops. You want to add liquid to the cartridge until the liquid just starts to pool at the top of the filling material; you can take a tissue and dab off the top if you overfill. A cart should hold at least 10-15 drops.

I have to second Kingb and add this:

If you're going to use LR atties, then buy a drip tip. Don't use carts with an LR attie and 3.7V batteries. Carts aren't going to wick well enough to keep up with the heat that combination is going to create. If the atties get dry, it can decrease their life, if not kill them completely.

Try blowing your atty out into a tissue...add 3 or 4 drops of your liquid....fill cartridge (cart) as per quoted from TomCatt....install your cart into the atty...see if that gets you going...

And welcome to ECF !!

The plan was to try out this kit and if i liked it to then go ahead and invest in it. I actually wanted their tank conversion but for whatever reason they were sold out in black. Oh well.

Either way I have tried most of what you folks have suggested and im still getting shyte results. The reviews I watched from the brittish guy make it seem like he pulled it out of the box and it vaped great for him. My results are not matching, no sweet vap rings to be had.

I have dried the atty, checked the connections, started again with a recharged batt, filled as suggested here and nothing great is happening. Its funny, if I set it down for a min, the first rip is okay but then it fizzles down to nearly zero vap by my third pull. first vape is still nothing like in the reviews.

Ive looked at the LR attys but it seems some say it gives a burnt taste? This has some what made me look other directions but ultimately I just want some thing that can kick out a ....load of vape, consistently and that tastes good.

Ioriginally tried some other gadgets called njoy and they were awful, I accidentally broke one of the cartomizers and it turns out the heating element was burning a hole in the cotton and this was half of my "vapor". Needless to say it tasted like .....

This is what the guidance was directly from the manual. 2-4 drops, vape and check the filler to see if it was oil color or white. If white add 2-4 more drops....

I dont have any LR atties now so I dont think this is any immediate concern. I appreciate the advice though...

Thanks for the welcome, followed advice to a T as mentioned above, same results unfortunately...

This is a 510 cartridge:

This is a CE2 cartomizer:

The 510 cartridge is basically a plastic mouthpiece filled with polyfill to hold the eliquid. It gets attached to an atomizer which heats up to produce the vapor.
The CE2 cartomizer has no polyfill, it's an open eliquid reservoir. The CE2 has a built in atomizer at the top (mouth end) of the unit. It uses high temperature wicks, that reach to the bottom of the unit, to feed the eliquid to the atomizer.

cart+atomizer sucks and is the worst way to vape

Cartomizers are nicer. Most people use plain stuffing cartos and Boge is most popular for 510 threading. No syringe needed. I use Boge cartos with my 510 threaded stuff

CE2 is also a CARTOMIZER aka carto not a CARTRIDGE aka cart. CE2's are reservoir cartos - they have no stuffing and require a special flexible CE2 filling kit syringe or a blunt tip syringe to fill them. And those clear ones can crack and fall apart. There are also metal ones.

Cartomizers do not use a separate atomizer. They have an atomizer built in. They are disposable unless you end up being a person who is good at cleaning them. Cartomizers hold more juice than a cart.

In my experience most cartomizers work best longer with thin juices. I use no more than 20% VG in stuffing cartos. I heard most reservoir cartos are happy with 20-30% VG. Not sure about 100% PG. Use your atomizers w/ cart or drip tip for testing juices and for vaping juices that are too thick to wick well in cartos. Put your favorite thinner juices in cartos.

An fresh unfilled cart will take a LOT more than 3-4 drops to adequately fill it...

Do this - stand the cart on a table, drip a few drops, let them soak in, repeat... keep doing this until the liquid is "pooling" on the top of the cart. With modern 901 atties (which wick the juice really well) this should work fine. Doing this (and topping up when the vapour starts to drop), i've even found LR901 atties will work with carts...

I think the "3 or 4 drops" is for topping up, NOT filling the cart from scratch...
