Ok. Any idea how full I need to keep the tank? I seem to have a slight burnt taste.

I don't think it matters much with the minipt;



Give the liquid a little time to wick;

high vg is slower to wick; high pg wicks faster.

hold mouthpiece up to your ear and press the fire button; you should hear a sizzle sound.

Try a voltage like 3.7 volts ; that's the nominal voltage of the lithium battery.

Oh, yeah, going too high a voltage too fast can cause burnt tastes that take a long time to go away so don't go too high too fast.

My vapor is tasting slightly toasty right now, and flavor seems to be muted. I'm using 100% VG juice and I vaped it on high volatge for a few draws. Maybe I fried the coil?

Edit: I just popped the top shaft off of the coil head and the wick inside there is burnt black. Is this normal or did I fry it by chain vaping or high voltage?

When you run high voltage too long, the liquid can't wick fast enough to the coil, the coil gets too dry, the coil gets too hot, and the glycerin starts to burn instead of vaporize; that burnt gunk stays on the coil until it is either burnt off or cleaned someother way.

You could try dryburning the coil.

I usually don't go above 3.8V with my protank II Mini no mater what Ω coil is in it. 4.3 starts to taste a wee burnt.

Also, don't over tighten. If you have leaking, the glass is probably overcompressing the gasket.

Yesterday it was vaping like a champ. Thick tasty clouds back after back. Quality fell off at the end of the day, now vape is sparse and not tasty. Using 100% VG juice, probably jacked the coil. But that is rough to only get 1 day out of a new coil.

Edit: Just gave it a cleaning, and a bit of a dry burn, now just need to vape it a while and see how much performance is restored. I might buy 1 mm silica so I can put new silica on the coil.

rewick with cotton. Its cheaper and works better than silica with high vg. Just don't dry burn the cotton. I use cotton balls for the coil wick and slices of rolled gauze for flavor wicks.
