Hi everyone! I just got my Provari Mini starter kit and am soooo excited, but am having some trouble. To get any vapor out, I need to unscrew the Protank 2 to the point that it is wobbling around, and the draw is still tough. Is there a ring or something I need? Or do I need to mess with the settings more? I have the power at 3.6 and am getting flavor, but barely any vapor. The juice is 70/30 and works great in my EVOD. Any suggestions?

Protanks are inconsistent in how long the thread is, and where the airhole is - it causes trouble SOMETIMES with ProVari.
I had this discussion with ProVape before I bought my ProVari - because I like Protanks!
I got lucky - all my ProTanks work great, and I don't have a "gap" OR any airflow trouble.
Since you got the ProTank from them, you should send them an email, and ask for advice or to swap for a different one. Many people find they have to loosen a ProTank JUST A LITTLE to get airflow - but it shouldn't have to get wobbly!!

It's probably an airflow issue.

You also may want to check these other couple tips once you have airflow:
- what's the "Ao" reading - the Atomizer Ohms? If you have a 2.4 ohm or higher coil, then 3.6 may still be a bit low! You can turn it up a bit (I vape 2.4 ohm coils at 4 or a little above all the time).
- Another ProTank tip - if you get "dry hits" - a little burning - especially if it's NOT the first draw but after - then your ProTank might not be letting enough juice get to the coil. I regularly pull the little airtube off the coil, and carefully remove ONE STRAND of the wicks there. It lets the coil get wetter - but not "flood" - and lets the ProTank work much better. It may not be needed if you're not getting dry hits - but I found it works great for me. It also may depend on how thick your juice is - mine's usually about 50% VG.

Congrats & welcome!

Just as a test, unscrew the Protank from the Provari and take a draw on it - is it still tight? Double check that the head is fully seated in the base, sometimes it gets a little loose. When you put it back on the Provari, Provape suggests to screw it down to the point when you feel it begin to tighten. I usually tighten it and then loosen it a bit. Don't ask me why, but I can find the right spot easier that way, it's maybe half a turn and definitely not wobbly.

If you're using the head from Provape, I'm guessing it's 3 ohms? (you can check it in the menu, Ao). The rule of thumb is Ohms +2 for the setting on the Provari. So if you're using a 3 ohm head, 3.6 is too low.

Good luck!

You can also back off the coil A TINY BIT off the bottom plate. Just a quarter turn at most! That sometimes helps.

I got so frustrated with the PT2 that I got rid of them.

If you like bottom coil clearos. Try the aspire. It's dual coil , puts out a lot of vapor. They are full of flavor, but it seems to be a different flavor than I get from my carto tanks.

Enjoy your Mibi. Live both of mine

Thanks so much for the replies! :) The Protank 2 is the one that came from Provape with the kit, and the Ao is reading at 2.1. When I take the tank off and draw there is no obstruction at all.

I upped the power to 4 and it is doing a much better draw now! Thanks guys. I was hoping for perfection LOL! I will try to play with it a bit more, and next time maybe take one of the wicks out? I have done that with my EVOD heads before with good luck. I just wish I didn't have to keep the tank on loosely...is there some sort of ring I could add? I could have sworn one of the threads I read said there was a ring of some sort that could help with airflow.

There is a hippo v2 ring that has adjustable airflow. There are also replaceable bottoms for the protanks that have better air control flow but can't remember where I saw them.....I'll check and link if I find them...the hippo which I have works great but a little pricey and was put of stock a couple days ago, I'll check that as well!!

To be honest, while I don't usually recommend people switch "juice delivery methods" - rather than spend for a Hippo to make a ProTank work, I'd
a) Try a different protank - some work perfectly!
or
b) Find a nice little carto-tank. Maybe in the classifieds. Or save up for one (maybe $40 for your first, fully equipped with a tip and cartos)

I have not had luck with the inexpensive airflow thingies. And the Tatroe base is machined better, and shouldn't cut OFF air - but I find it a TIGHTER air draw than a regular ProTank base!
