I got the M-401 Dragon starter kit from truesmoker.com and the thing looks amazing.
I have read that atomizer's require a little breaking in before the juice that was shipped in them is gone, but the taste is bad, and the smell of the marlboro carts that came with isn't a pleasant smell. It smells a lot like the bad taste I get from it. From what I have heard, the carts that come with most kits aren't that great.
So I went ahead and ordered some blank carts an extra atomizer, and 2 flavors, banana and caramel.
Throat hit isn't a big deal with me, and I honestly wasn't paying attention to it, especially with the bad taste.
I guess now I just have to wait for my order to get in and I can start vaping for real.

How long does an atomizer take to break in anyhow?

I personally find most "tobacco" flavors are not to great. I personally like "JD's" smoke juice (whiskey flavor) and his Ry4 which most people say caramelish I find it taste like a cigar though. You'll have to try a few flavors before you really find the right one for you.

I've already been through a good many juices already and I think I may have finally found my favorite vape(s). JD's Whiskey and I also like totally wicked's cigar... at the saaame time haha

on a serious note though, you have to remember it is not an analog and is not the exact same. It takes time to get used to, and also be sure to put a drop on the atomizer when its new sometimes this can help with the new atomizer flavor.

Where can I get JD's Whiskey juice from??? That sounds great! Haven't tried RY4 yet but Jack Daniels and a Cigar go well together.

Maybe a 510 in one hand with JD and 510 with RY4 in the other hand LOL

As for the OP I'm not familiar with 401 atomizers but I just broke in two 510 atomizers and they ran 9 hours each to break in and rid them of primer taste. Thats with continuous vaping throughout the day. Each one around the 8hr mark I could tell were starting to loose the primer taste.

My routine is fill bathroom sink with warm water, put in just a squirt of dish soap like Dawn and mix it in. Then put atomizer in and swish it around for 3-5 minutes. After that empty sink and run water through atomizer for 1-2 min to make sure all the soap is out of it. Then finally run hot water through it for 30 seconds then blow any excess water out with your mouth. Not sure if it helps much for breaking in but I have always done this routine as an initial atomizer cleaning.

Im currently working on getting some good liquid tons of flavors to pick from so it will take some time to narrow that one down. I just got the m402 from litecig usa the carts they came with are marlboro like yours, i get a really good throat hit but yeah they certainly dont taste like a marlboro cig that was my ex brand of choice.

Best advice for the 401 attys, is fill it with strong juice and puff/blow repeatedly for a while. I did one like that with my butterscotch concoction and it worked well. Though I'm not sure if the flavor is /stuck/ to that atty now because I haven't vaped anything else in like three weeks... (I get /stuck/ on flavors lol)

I did one other by filling a shot glass in pepsi, I let it sit over night, then in the morning I rinsed it under HOT hot water, blew out the excess water, and let it dry over a paper towel. Couple hours later I used it again, and that seemed t clean it pretty well.

Trust me, once you get the 401s going they're great little devices. One other thing though, if the Dragon manual batteries come out soon, and are SEALED, please buy a couple. Sealed batteries will last you so much longer because you can't get ANY liquid in them at all.

    Good Luck :)

I just started using the Dragon for about 14 hours now. Starting using last night and here are my observations. I am also waiting for an order of BluCigs so I can compare at least 2 brands/type of e-Cigs.

    The Dragon.

    1. Nice packaging and case.
    2. The first 3 Marlboro Carts I tried dont taste anything like Marlboro. Whatever it tastes like, it's very very mild, more often I taste nothing.
    3. I also ordered the watermelong Juice and tried it. Dont taste much like watermelon at all. Very bland taste. (I am waiting for a Menthol Juice to try it).
    4. Carts dry very quickly. Who said a cart would be equivalent to 5-10 analogs? I have been a 1/2 pack a day smoker for 15 years so I was expecting the carts to last longer..but in fact I think one cart = 2-3 cigarettes. I brought 3 carts to work today and 2 are already dry. Only went smoking 3 times today.
    5. I still feel they are better than regular smokes. Let's see how long I can go without analogs.
    6. The first cart I tried was dry like in one minute.
    7. I do feel the nicotine. The feeling/taste is like the after taste when you chew nicotine gum.
    8. Not enough vapor or smoke. Sometimes you get a nice hit, often not.

With that say, I am still "satisfy" with my order. I hope I can find a juice and cartridge that are better than the ones it came with the dragon. They really dont taste anything like Watermelon or Marlboro.

I hope the BluCigs are "TASTIER"

You are lucky you didn't get the horrible nasty taste I got. I am currently cleaning both my atomizers in warm water with a little bit of dish soap. Gonna leave it in there for a few hours, then clean them out let them dry and try and see if it gets better.
I am also a little dissapointed with the vapor production. Maybe cleaning them will help.

I can't really feel the nicotine. Every once in a while I do get a little mouth tingle like from nic gum, but nothing as strong as the gum.

Hope cleaning them clears things up and makes it awesome. I am still not used to inhaling vapor... its a little weird. I am definitely glad I don't have to buy analogs anymore! Too expensive for a pack of cigs these days!

I bought banana and caramel, and quite honestly, caramel seems to taste like Pina Colada, and banana sorta tastes like banana. I do like pina colada, so I got no problem with it.

Any update on the taste? As a side note yesterday I cleaned another brand new 510 atomizer. Filled the sink with soapy water. Got side tracked with something else while I left the atomizer in the soapy water for nearly 2hrs. I had forgot about it. I rinsed it out and let it air dry for about 2hrs. I put a drop of juice on the atty along with a full cart and it was tasting great. No primer taste and vapor production was huge.

I found that vaping really ISN'T like smoking. I have been a menthol smoker all my smoking years so Marlboro wasn't even on my radar, well except for the menthol smooths. The Marlboro carts I got with my kit were a pleasant surprise and found myelf saying, 'So that's what it tastes like without all the burning stuff'.

Kinda torn between my fave tobacco flavors now, Flue Cured and Hilton top that list. When I get adventurous with flavors I like to mix Rum, Pineapple and Coconut and have a Pina Colada vape in the evenings. That seems to be the only sweet combo that works for me. Now if they would just put out the ingredients for an after dinner Margarita.

Hey all, ok so I just ordered the M-401 from Lite Cig and would like advice from those who have been vapin for a while. Can I just start smokin it out of the box or is their something I need to do before I start? I read this thread and from the sounds of it seems like when you first get your e cig everyone is getting this bad taste, can someone walk me through on how to do this? Mine came with 2 bottles of 15ml of some sort of liquid, where would I put this liquid in? The tip of the cig (the filter) or would it go somewhere else? And how many drops should I put. Thanks for any input.

Ok, well quite honestly I think I may have F***ed my first atomizer, cause I soaked it for 2 hours with my brand new atomizer in soapy water. Then rinsed under water for a while, then blew out the water. Then I laid them on some stacked paper towels, wick side down leaning against something to keep them from falling over.
The old atomizer still smelled sort of bad, and the new one smelled a little bit like the old juice that I put on them. (When I got the new atomizer, I did put banana and caramel in it and use it for a little bit)
The old atomizer still tastes bad, but not as bad as it used to be. The new one is pretty good, but quite honestly, I don't know if vaping is for me.
I get a dry cough, and I can't really feel the nicotine hit :(

Stick with the new atomizer if it taste good. I had an atomizer that came with my joye306 kit that just never tasted right so i sent it back for replacement.

When you say nicotine hit are you not getting any feeling from the nic or is it you are not getting any throat hit? Throat hit meaning the feel of the vapor as it hits your throat. I have heard the 401 doesnt have much throat hit.

Dry cough could be a sensitivity to PG. You may want to try some VG like Ecopure and see if you get better results.
    This may help http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...28726-new-vaping-sore-throat-anyone-else.html

Same here. Salem smoker, never liked Marlboros even the menthol and now Marlboro juice is in the top five - I drop some Newport on it topping off sometimes, but like it straight too. Both Janty juices but I've found I like marlboro whereever it's from.

    OP
I was in a similar situation situation as you, I ordered Marlboro flavor with my original ecig kit purchase. Initially i didn't like it very much and i immediately ordered mocha and menthol flavors. By the time the the juices arrived (about 4 days) I had really gotten used to the MB flavor and its my favorite of the 3. As someone mentioned earlier, none of the flavors will ever taste like tobacco, but in just couple of days I greatly preferred them all over tobacco. Might not be your case but thats how it worked for me.
