Just had my first issue, luckily it wasn't the MVP. I hit the fire button and the light just stayed on for abot 5 seconds without firing, wasn't sure what it was at first. I unscrewed the iclear and the unit was working properly now, so went about taking the clearo apart and found that the atomizer head was causing the malfunction. Not sure what was causing the bad connection, but I tugged on the bottom wick pulling it out a bit, then back in and adjusted the coil around a bit...Viola, it worked.

I'm guessing this is a part of the short circuit protection?

3 more days from FT and I will have mine!!! Reading this thread is makin me jones hard though!!

I have a question, is the beauty ring removable? I thought I read that on the production model is isn't but pre-production it was.

I can't tell from that pic.

Yes, my beauty ring is still in the box, might use it to propose one day.

yeah its short circuit protection, also, careful when u get to 999 puff counter, it does a 10 sec cleaning cycle, firing straight for 10 sec, (at least my gen 1 does, dont kno if they got rid of that on the ones with ego threading) ,..so u gotta run to rip off whatever is attached or it will be FRIED

Yes, removable. Most do leave it in the box, or in the box of "stuff" that we all accumulate. Although I've read that it does make a good drip cup, if you vape in that way.

Jerzi, you might have found the 999 "cleaning" cycle. Seems that when the puff counter rolls from that back to 0 it fires the MVP on it's own. Nobody's come up with a good explanation, but all of us have experienced it. Not a big deal, once you know about it! (And not sure why it got dubbed "cleaning" cycle, but that's what we're all saying to reference it... Uh, what's being cleaned??)

I just power mine off / on after each recharge, and usually recharge around 900 just on general principle. Longer service life for lithiums if you you don't run them all the way down.

Yeah, I have two of the itaste tank vv's.. Only happened once or twice on them, no harm done, but I'm more careful with the MVP. I might let it roll the 999 when the coil gets really gunked up to see what happens.

It was the clearo, I guess now I will know when there is an issue with a tank or clearo I put on there.

What happens is you push the fire button and it automatically turns bright green from the start, and will stay like that for around five seconds. It didn't work properly until I took the clearo off. My MVP is at 932 count so I know it didn't flip yet

it fires too long, doesnt pulse, and i think its at full voltage....unless u want to throw away that carto or clearo right after, thats an experiment thats seems completely unjustified..lol

I'm going to put the old head on and see what happens now, in the name of science

I haven't seen a video yet of someone rolling the 999, is there one out there? Maybe I should make one.

lol...dont worry it WILL catch u when u least expect it, its the beastly nature of that device....it will do a scientific experiment on your reflex skillz rather than u trying to work that puff counter....LMFAO

 I'm going to do it, might take a few days to get up there, but it will be done. I really should order some more replacement heads too since I only have one backup.

i tried so many times to work the puff counter up, lol, everytime i would press in succession too quickly and the device would restart, u will see....maybe....lol...unless u really r that patient....and your timing is impeccable...3 times and its back to 0...
a few days: i took at least 1000 puffs in a day lol...its just hard to not reset the device...when i started paying attention to the puff counter on my evic i was astounded, it went into the upper thousands so quickly, lol

I'm pretty determined, I will take the clearo off and just raise the count if it comes to that. I was always the kid that never listened until I did it for myself. My mom told me one time when I was a kid " don't touch that, it's hot " ....."Ouch" ..." I told you didn't I ". That happened a lot, I've always been interested in how things worked and taking stuff apart. My parents were scared to leave me home alone thinking the house would be burned down when they got back.
