Don't get me wrong, it has a HUGE advantage with all the adapters. That rules
However, it just can't be any different vaping wise if your using your computer as a source. In that sense it's the same as any other passthrough right?
5v .5a output from the pc = input of the passthrough
I have both a Puresmoker PT and a standard 901 PT, the Puresmoker PT gets 5.07 on the multimeter, the standard gets 5.04, both from the USB ports on the front of my computer.
Now, that's not far off (I'm actually pretty surprised, I expected the standard 901 PT to have a resistor or something) but the PureSmoker PT is LOADED with advantages.
For whatever reason, the Puresmoker PT seems to make the atty burn hotter, I haven't tested it with the atomizer attached before, mostly because it's a pain in the ...., but it's definitely a noticeable difference.
Also, you don't get a cutoff time OR a self cleaning function with the Puresmoker PT, which makes life a hell of a lot better.
I'm not sure if you've ever had to deal with the hell that is the self cleaning function, but all I know is that I have 2 attys that will forever taste like rear-end because my passthrough decided to fire up by itself for 45 seconds.
Anyway, it really comes down to preference, but as far as I know the Puresmoker PT is the only passthrough out there that's built like a tank, has a interchangeable adapters, has no cutoff time, and has no self cleaning function.
Plus, it's American made with a 3 month warranty... I mean... come on!
Edit: Don't forget all your options, you can use a USB power pack, an AC to USB converter, a self-powered USB hub, etc. etc.
Hell, if you're really creative, you could even make your own plug-in power source at any voltage you please.
The sky's the limit. (Well... the limit is probably 7-ish volts, but still)
