The Ego Twist is amazing compared to the V2 E-cigs I was using (what a sham). Also, got some Boge cartomizers in the mail and some new flavors. A whole nother world of vaping!!

The only issue I'm having is that with some of the cartomizers I've filled when I go to vape them all I get is an extremely burnt taste and very little vapor. I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong. Too much juice? Accidentally got some down the center of the carto? bad carto? What's the deal?

Also, whatever the issue is have I toasted these cartos and turned them into trash or are they salvageable?

It can be lack of juice... AT THE COIL.

Many people let them sit and soak up the juice for 15 minutes or more. 60/40 and 50/50 juices are quite thick.

To see if that's it... you can try an experiment. Take a small bottle or syringe (like 3 ml ) and add 1 or 2 drops of water to it along with the juice and shake/mix. Fill a new carto. Wait 15 minutes. Vape. Did it work? Yes = wicking issue.

Also make sure you are getting the syringe to the bottom of the carto when you fill it, move out slowly while dispensing juice.

See... It can only burn if 1) lack of juice or 2) waaaay overvolts. LR and SR stuff should be 3.7 v or lower.

Just best guesses.

I like the vivi nova on mine just fine (with the 1.8 ohm head). I like cartos (in tanks) okay, but I don't like the way the smoktechs fail: it seems like when they die they just flood like woah with no warning. I don't like that.

I'll try some boges and some ikenvape cartos (when they're back in stock) to see if they fail the same way. If they do, I'm kinda done with them.

Honestly, I enjoy dripping despite it being a PITA. Maybe you should give that a try?

I've got a DID coming that I'm going to try on mine. Not for everyone I'm sure, but it was my birthday so I figured what the hey.

In the meantime I have a couple Phoenix rebuildable attys coming in to play around and learn to re-wick and re-coil with. I never dripped, started right off with cartos, clearos, tried carto tanks and am now using CE3 bottom coils.

The cartos were not so good and needed too much topping off, the clearos never had any decent flavor for me, the tanks tasted like either dirty socks from the cartos (no matter who made them) or rubber from the grommets they were made of, or flooded.

The CE3's, for me, have the best taste, but don't hold much juice and I hated carrying around syringes to refill them. I now usually fill them the night before and put them in an Altoids tin to take with me in my lunch cooler, but that gets old as well. Oh, and they're not the most cost effective solution since I am using a 5 pack a week.

I'm hoping to simplify things with the rebuildable attys and the DID when I get it in. It will be nice to just deal with coil and wick and not have to hunt all over and have spare juice delivery devices.

That's why I mentioned those rebuildable attys. They hold like a ml of juice at a time versus just a couple drops.

Of course they also cost $15 to $20 depending where you get them, but you shouldn't have to buy one again since you can replace the wick and coil.

Not everyone is into that, but it should keep my attention for a couple days and I'm going to use SS mesh in mine because I hate burnt tasting juice and silica wicks.
