Just graduated from the Njoy Disposables but not happy with my current set up.

I live in Albany NY and there isn't really any stores that specialize in vaping in the area. I went to a tobacco shop and picked up a Haka 650 amh battery and a Gemini clearomizer. I guess i'm a pretty heavy vaper, but what i find is after 3-4 days, my eliquid starts turning to sludge and gets dark in color. I'm using eliquid from Vapor Beast

I like the size or my set up now, but I'd like something that wont need the coils to be changed as often.

Ah, yes, to clarify, i get the sludge vape, but then i clean and change the coils. I'm just wondering if changing coils/wick every 3 days is normal.

With some heavy, thick juices you have to clean the tanks every few days. My wife was on a Hazelnut Coffee kick a while back, that gunked up the wicks pretty quick!

Have you ever considered doing your own builds on a rebuildable atomizer? Reason I ask is in my experience, the coils I rebuild seem to last a LOT longer than the premade coils. I was going through pre made coils every couple of days and this got expensive for me so Iearned i to build my own on a RBA and now they last A significantly longer amount of time than the premade ones. I understand building is not for everyone, but if you are open to learning you can save money and get a longer life out of your coils, not to mention better flavor and vapor production. However if building is not a intrest of yours you might try cleaning your premade coils and this can extend the life of them somewhat. I wish you the best and hope this helps.

High VG based e liquids tend to gunk up faster. Vapor Beast if the site I looked at are 70/30 pg/vg. Other things like quality of wicking, flavoring used and heat generated all contribute. The only time I have had coils last a week before I needed to rinse with hot tap water was a week using unflavored liquid.

I used a Gemini Clearo at one time... That thing was very nice. Only issue for me was it would get hot. What I usually did was keep 2 of each clearo.. While one was cleaning and drying I would use the other one. Actually, I think I still have both Gemini clearos somewhere.

Is a 70/30 split considered high VG?

the smaller dia "pen" style batteries and low costs tanks have their place, but if you are looking for something that will last longer and is more robust as far as durability, start looking into medium grade mods and possibly a RBA.
The Ego style batteries have a recharge life cycle of maybe 200-400 recharges, so eventually you will have to throw it away once the battery quits holding a charge.
Mods that I would consider good are the SVD, MVP... there ore others out there but the price begins to go above 80$ for them...
as far as tanks, the RSST is one of my favorites as well as the HCigar 3.1 KFC.... both are rebuildables but are easy to rebuild. It took me 2 times trying to rebuild a Protank coil and quickly decided an RSST was what I needed....

Sorry I am a math guy not a writer so I tend not to fully explain things. 50/50 is average. 30/70 I would consider high VG. 70/30 I would not consider high VG. It is definitely higher PG. XX/XX is PG/VG concentrations. It reads like this ... out of 100 70 is PG 30 is VG. PG is less viscous than VG yet harsher on the throat. VG tends to be sweeter than PG yet gunkier on the coils. Still heat anything hot enough and it will gunk the wire. Also some companies could add additives to their liquids such as food coloring. This will contribute as well.

If I remember that gemini correctly it is a dual coil, also tends to gunk faster... I tend to use high VG based if not full VG.

Things will gunk up. The trick is having backups for them starting out. Rinse one and use the other. Unless you go the unflavored route.

I may actually break that Gemini out if I can find it tonight. First time I used it was on a weekend stay in Gattlinburg. Good memories except I burnt my lip on it.
