How FAR under the rock can I really BE? LOL....So ALL day I have researched and read and tracked down EVERY supplier online LOL....then I found you folks...thank GOODNESS :toast: And my vote was on Modern Vapor, ordered the 902 Solo starter kit.....I'm hoping this will stop my 40 year addiction to the smelly analogs! AND that my hubby will ALSO take on.....SICK of spending the $$$$ on the smelly things and feeling 'bad' about myself....

So I will be looking for input on my new found friends, tips, tricks and hoping that I enjoy this experience.

I'm tempted to order the flavored juices, but hey, going with the starter kit and getting familiar with it all 1st....SO, for all the vets out there with the 902 Solo, let me hear from you so I can make my 1st experience a great one....hmmm...HGTV has Property Virgins, this forum has E-Cig Virgins.....LOL.....maybe a new title for the newbie thread????? LOL...

Thanks in advance to all!

I wouldn't say under a rock.....vaping is still fairly new and not alot of positive press.

It has been a life changing experience for myself, my family and a few friends. My youngest daughter seems to be the most happy.:D

Not familiar with that model.....but just wanting to make the change from analogs is the biggest step. Congratz!!!

Welcome! Not familiar with that brand but most starter kits prefilled carts /cartos (cartriages / cartomizers) are notirious (sp?) for being bad. Best to get small (between 3 to 5ml samples of various flavors and strenghts of nic to see what you like and can curb your nic habit. If you find a jucie you like get some but I would not stock up right away. Seems most people taste in juice change within the first couple of weeks of giving up smoking. Enjoy your journey!

Unless your starter kit comes with some extra juice, you better order some.
Those prefilled cartridges they send you don't last anywhere near as long as they say.
:)

I echo the previous suggestion for getting a bunch of samples.
You'll want different nicotine strengths to find what works best for you.

Check out some of the choices for samplers in post #3 of this thread...
Taking the plunge!

What kind of cigarettes do you smoke, and how many per day?

I made a couple of mistakes when I started.

1. I ordered too high of a nicotine level that made me ill. I had to wait to order something I could use.

2. I should have ordered some small samples or small bottles of various strengths and flavors of eliquid.

Getting different flavors to try makes this so much fun and a nice experience. You start to feel like a kid waiting to try a new flavor. Next step becomes to mix your own. Wow I like my flavors strong and make it just the way I like them now. Even more fun and more enjoyable!

I thought I remembered that a 902 is a kr battery ? I'm not sure but if that is what it is you ordered a good first model . I always send newbies to vapor4life because that's all they sell and it's the least confusing .cartomizers are the easiest way for a person new to vaping to find what flavor they like and what strength of nicotine . Whatever it is you made a good first step in quitting cigarettes. Try to remember their is a learning curve so if this model doesn't work out don't stop trying , somebody on this forum will help you get to the right model for you . Good luck

Congrats on taking the first step. As pretty much a newbie myself, let me just warn you to not get discouraged. Let things come naturally. A lot of people get discouraged because they don't stop the cigarettes immediately. Most people will tell you that while you CAN replace cigarettes with a PV and most of us have, it's a lot easier if you don't force it.

My secret was I kept my pack of cigarettes and PV both with me. If I wanted a cigarette, I smoked one. But I noticed that more and more, I preferred the PV to cigarettes. eventually, I was down to a few cigarettes a day, the hard ones to stop (morning, after dinner, etc..) and made a conscious try to cut those out over a couple of weeks. Soon, I was using the PV exclusively.

I didn't expect to see soooo many replies...THANK YOU! I'm not expecting miracles, but after having read all that I did yesterday, smoking my reg cigs seemed to already disgust me, so I'm hoping this will continue. I have tried to quit analogs maybe 4 times out of the many years I have smoked and to no avail....so looking forward to something fun and different. Went into work today and posed the question about vaping on the premises...LOL...yeah, that went over for a good laugh, BUT with alot of interest from other smokers...

I was going to order the empty carts and some blue foam, and juice, but not familiar enough and figured I'd get started and made my wish list already on the website....LOL...

Didn't tell the hubby I ordered it, will make it a surprise and see what he thinks. For what we spend on analogs a year, we could take that 2 week Hawaii vacation we always wanted to or that Alaskan cruise or heck pay off the credit cards for that matter! We smoke each about 1 pack a day, Marb reds for me, 100's and marb lights (oh, sorry golds now) for him....so I opted for the reg tobacco this time around.

So, I'll be posting for tips and hints and learn all the jargon!

What I'm looking for most? Being able to have people in my car that aren't offended by the smoke smell, and my breathing and my taste and smell to be better. High hopes but reachable goals.

Thanks everyone for your help and glad I found you all!

Oh and for some of the best juice go to FreedomSmokeUSA they have samples, prices are really good and there service is top notch.
