Welcome Brick,

Glad to hear that your first day went so well. When I first got mine I too thought that I wanted to find a tobacco flavor that tasted just like my Camels. Like you, I also changed my mind pretty quick. There's just too many great flavors out there. The one tobacco(ish) flavor that I do enjoy is 555.

Alright so it is now day four. I have smoked a total 3 and 1/4 analogs. I brought my 902 to the bar for the first time. The auto batteries do not last as long with a lot of noise around. My batts are lasting me about 8 hours at work and home but a newly charged battery only last about 3-4 hrs at the bar. This is long enough to charge my other battery, but I was drunk and put it in my PCC wrong. Anyways, I ended up smoking 3 cigs at the bar while my battery charged. I actually noticed that I was more just holding the smokes like a security blanket than actually smoking them. This prompted me to order a couple of manual batteries to use while in loud places. I have still not bought a pack of smokes, and still have half a pack sitting at my house going stale. I also ordered some new flavors from vaporbomb.

Day 7- I have not had another smoke since the night I went to the bar and killed my auto batteries. I have since received a couple of manual batteries, and a wall charger. So I don't see it happening again. I should be receiving my shipment from vaporbomb tomorrow. Can't wait. Kid on Christmas eve again. lol.

So I have spent $170 on vaping so far. I have not bought a pack of smokes all week. Which has saved me $48. So vaping has cost me $122 so far, but I should be set up for a while. I have 5 batteries, 4 atties, and will have 7 different flavors to choose from after tomorrow. :D.:vapor::D:toast:

Congrats Brick! I feel like we both have had a lot of the same experience with vaping so far. I just turned 30, been smoking for 16 years. I just started friday and haven't smoked an analog since. I'm using the 510, manual battery, direct dripping.

Parliament lights were my cigs for all those years and as some of the people have stated, RY4 is a great replacement. I bought a 15ml bottle from electronicstix and already have gone halfway through it. Last night I placed an order for a 30ml along with a couple other flavors at DIYflavorshack. They have a ton of flavors, tobacco and others.

You can do this. I'm on day four and I already know I wont go back to analogs, and you're twice as far along as me. Just enjoy vaping, and enjoy all the options that we as ecig users have available to us. Hundreds more than analog users, easily. Best of luck, you're doing great :)

I have been direct dripping also. I don't really like using the carts. I can't get as much vapor from carts as when i drip. I don't think I'm going to try modding the carts any more. The carts seem to waste a lot of liquid.

Some asked me to post if I liked the manual or auto batteries better earlier in the thread. The manuals hit much better than the autos for the 902 model.

Day 18-Still have not smoked a cig. I originally set my "quit date" for August 12th, but have no desire to smoke a cig ever again. I have not ordered anymore vaping supplies. So my total cost is still $170. But I have gone 18 days without buying a pack. This includes 5 trips to bars, which would have resulted in the purchasing of another pack. So I have saved $138 not buying smokes. Sooooo close to breaking even. :toast::vapor::D

I am set to receive my Modern Vapor 902 starter kit tomorrow, and will be attempting to use it to quit smoking for good.

I wish you the best of luck in your quest. I too am attempting the same so far so good. I have found that once I started vaping, when I tried an analog they didn't taste good anymore. I also discovered that slowly my taste buds must be regenerating because I don't like my coffee as strong and I can taste things better than I have in a long time.

Please keep us up to date on your progress and congrats on attempting to quit.

I think you'll find it'll be a much shorter thread than you though. After vaping for less than a week I tried one of my old cigarettes... tasted like absolute crap.

Try it and see... it's amazing how bad they taste after a little time on eCigs.

I think absolute crap is putting it mildly....I can't even come up with a better word for it tho. You are SO SO right. vaping and never smoking again!!

What a great thread Brick! Thanks for taking us through the journey with you. It really is amazing to me still. I never would have thought that I could be smoke free and not craving a cigarette. I had gone months without, but never stopped wanting them. Now, the idea of smoking an analog just sounds awful....NEVER thought that could happen. Since you work with a lot of smokers, be sure to spread the word.

Day 19-Another day analog free. Saved another 12 bucks not buying smokes. Went to the bar to watch the first preseason football game. This would have been another two pack day. Especially with 1/2 my friends trying to bumb cigs from me not knowing that I quit. Lol. That brings my total vaping cost vs cig savings to $20. Except I placed another order for liquids from vaporbomb, and bought a new piece of hardware from vaporjunction. Got myself the RIVA kit. Oops:facepalm: Its my birthday in a couple of days, lay off me. That brings my total cost back up to $100. lol, What can I say? I am very compulsive with my addictions. It will even out eventually. I really don't mind spending as much on vaping as I did on cigs anyways. The health trade off is well worth it. My lungs are feeling 100% better at this point. :vapor:
