Hi folks!

I've been a smoker for about 20 years and recently relented to the curiosity about e-cigarettes.

I bought a cheap brand from a Circle K, and that lasted...oh about 20 minutes. lol!

Fell off the wagon (got ran over in the process) until I found the Greensmartliving brand. These seem to be a bit better than that "other" brand (whatever it was. Can't recall now.) The battery life is iffy, and I wish the vapor was heavier, but for now it'll do until I can muster the courage to shell out the cash for something more top-shelf.

I'm still about 50/50 though. I just learned today the differences between the batteries (manual...sounds like the way to go) but I have to admit that the choices are dizzying. I thought trying to figure out cell phone plans was hard. ha!

Anyway! Just wanted to introduce myself! Looking forward to meeting some folks (in a virtual sense of course) and learning more about this seemingly-much-cleaner habit!

Welcome, NeoLythic, to the wide, wonderful (and sometimes wacky) world of vaping and the ECF - a place full of helpful folk with all the information you could ever need.

If you're looking for something serious without spending $$$ I would recommend an Ego or its derivatives. They don't look like real cigarettes but they are slim, have good battery life (about 6-8 hours), are reasonably priced and can be used with a huge variety of 3rd party atomizers, cartomizers and tank systems.

Retriever: To be honest, I'm really not sure yet. I don't think I'm necessarily stuck on needing something that looks like a analog, so hopefully that will broaden my options. I think what's important at this point is the vapor (lots of it) battery life (not happy with the current brand) and flavor.

I'm debating on whether or not to get another "starter kit" from Greensmartliving so I have a backup. They're pretty cheap, and that should keep me going until I can settle on something more exotic. Lots of research to do!

Its kinda like trying to buy a new computer you see something that you like then move down the isle and see another that has perhaps a bigger harddrive or more ram and costs a little more.

Then you buy something within your price range and are happy with it -for a while
Then something new comes old thats a little better and so forth and catches ones eye.

If what you have is ok for now enjoy it and research what your wanting in a pv such as longer battery life, small or large pv, vv type etc.
Try not to rush into it as you may see something that appeals to you in a few days more...lol
Yeah but the best thing is if you given up the analogs your ahead of the game.

Thats an AWESOME deal! eGo is very good on battery, and leaves you lots of options for finding your best combination, without blowing a fortune. I would say go for the T-Rex!

Flavor, you have options as vast as the sea... lots of ejuice vendors and every flavor imagineable. Its up to you to decide if you like the flavor or not

Congrats and welcome!! Once you get something closer to an entry level device you are going to be much happier. And much more likely to put the analogs down. Start the new year off right and purchase a nice mod, some cardos, and maybe a tank or 2. Best of luck to you!!!!

i'm relatively new here as well, way too much info to process even still, always being temped by the myriad of sirens that are 'mods'.

Welcome to the forum! It will become simpler in no time.

A few simple, quick pointers.

Smaller, slimmer, more "cigarette" looking e-ciggs won't have much battery life or punch. You can't use LR atomizers or cartomizers on them. LR anything, gives a warmer vapor. A "fat" batt can handle LR( low resistance) However if you where a light smoker you may not mind something slimmer.

If you where a pack a day smoker or consider yourself a heavy smoker, something like a K-go, Riva, eGo that looks more like a slim cigar is a better way to introduce yourself. They boast long battery life and great vapor production.

Before you buy big bottles of juice, get at least 4-5 small sample sizes. You don't want to be stuck with a big bottle of juice you may not even like! Some people vape 2ml a day, some 4-6ml a day. So, 6ml sample sizes are a good way to go. First starting you might vape a lot more then you smoked. That's okay and may calm down in time. Its okay if you can't quit cigarettes the first day you get a better kit either or even the first week to month. If it's helping you cut down that's what counts until you're able to 100% switch to vaping!

Oh and don't forget a drip tip! They make vaping soooo much better! Very simple, they just attach to the top of a cartomizer or atomizer. Bonus, they're cheap too!

First time here, just bought a v2cig cig with a standard battery. One of the reasons I bought it after doing some research was that you need a high voltage cig to get some throat hit, throat hit being hot vapor and hot vapor needing high voltage.
