I've been really excited about rebuilding, I have my ohm reader just waiting for the wire to come. I ended up getting it In the mail today and I got my first coil build and go to grab another piece and before I even touch it the whole thing jumps up and all 50 feet of my wire is on the floor and I can't even rewrap it around the thing because it's completely tangled. I'm already off to a great start.

clump it up into a loose ball and just cut pieces from it? i dunno!

Lol it happened to me, but most of the wire is still recoverable, you just need small pieces at a time so its really no big deal
Sorry about your mis-fortune! Live and learn I guess, next time you'll know better
If that's been in the floor and you still plan to use it you might want to boil it first

LOL. Andrew, its stories like yours that made me realize I didn't want to be a rebuilder. But hang in there, I know things are going to get better!
Haha thanks guys and yeah I didn't even think about just rolling it into a ball and using it I was going to cut it and make a bunch of piles. I feel dumb lol
Mine came in a box. I took the spool out and instantly had a wire bird nest. After getting it straightened out and back on the spool I poked a small hole in the side of the box and ran the wire out the hole. Put the spool back in the box and taped the lid shut. Now it is kind of like a scotch tape dispenser...I just pull out a bit and cut it off, leaving a tail sticking out of the box.

Mine has unrolled on me before, but I managed to stop it before it got too bad and was able to re-coil it. +1 on the cut it to usable length though.
Don't cut all of it up, you'll need some long pieces when you discover twisting strands in a drill.
