So I just ordered a new Hana v4. This is the Hana dna 40 mod that has a battery door at the bottom and the large sized dna 40 screen. I have been reading reviews (I read some before I ordered as well so I was well aware) and I keep hearing about the DNA 40 screen issues, battery meter issues, as well as possible issues with the Hana Modz v4's battery door. I have yet to recieve it in the mail but I am already having buyers remorse (maybe I should have got a provari p3). I wanted a DNA 40 device because I wanted temp control and to buy from the USA. I also never had a genuine DNA device before so that was another strong point. Can anyone out there that has one of the newer DNA 40 devices tell me about any issues they have experienced? Does anyone have a DNA 40 with the big screen that has no problems at all?

You'll be fine, you've bought a quality chip and a quality mod from reputable vendors, both should come with adequate warranties should any issues arise.

Once you get the hang of building with nickel and using TC/TP, i will bet you never want to own another non TC/TP mod again.

Should you have screen issues, which seem far less prevalent than on the earlier boards, they've applied a bandaid (not ideal) i.e. a screen refresh that prevents it from causing major issues. Also keep in mind that even when temporarily scrambled the mod still functions 100% normally.

Never personally had any issues with my v1 DNA40's battery meter, though i've seen it mentioned. It calculates battery life off the last wattage it was fired at so, with TP/TC on, its entirely possible the last wattage could vary greatly between pulls (usually doesn't, but still) making it look more full/empty randomly.

Honestly after a bit of time with any mod i know where my batteries are/when i'm going to normally need a charge, but the DNA40's battery meter has never 'caught me off guard', always seemed relatively spot on to me.

If you have any issues im pretty sure Hana has a several month warranty, and your DNA40 chip has a 1 year warranty through Evolv, so you'll be covered.

Hope ya feel better about it, best of luck!

I was interested in Hana's new V4 pictured on their facebook, but having purchased the latest V4Mini from Hana and already owning the latest firmware version of the Vaporshark rDNA40, (returned earlier unit replaced with latest brand new) decided due to Hana's build inconsistencies to go for the Vaporshark DNA40 instead . Hana's new 510 although spring loaded is very weak in the spring department (hence hana's warning about over tightening) the 510 is so vague that by the time you think you've screwed it down ...it's too tight lol. If your using the same devices it wont matter but if you use a shorter 510 atty you will have to tweak the 510 back up.
That new V4 Hana with the trap door for the battery looks very smart. It's the same height as the original V3, the same width as the V4 single, just a tad narrower than the V4mini. It's firmware is the latest from Evolve, it should have no screen issues though that said the battery bar can drop off rarely, soon to return to normal, it's no big deal. It has the Atty Lock feature which is very useful when having problems with refinement.
Atty Lock gives users the same ability the Yihi Sx350J has to lock the resistance, on the Hana this will also switch off refinement something the Yihi never had to start with. It's a bit like having the vape you always wanted and the temp control stopping dry hits when needed, understandable why so many have raved about the Yihi, refinement is for geeks looking for the perfect atty and the perfect build, its fraught with problems and inconsistencies when all your looking for is a no dry hit quality vape.
Hanas are probably not the best first DNA40 device to purchase, they are usually expensive (overpriced) though your first choice that new V4 is on par with the Vaporshark Dna40. Hana's are bling, apart from the mini's they don't even ship with a battery, they have the basic Evolve board with the basic 500mah charging, (over 5hours from flat to full) the board is soldered to the buttons and full of hot glue. The V4's have tacky plastic non fixed separators between the battery and the circuit board, distinguished by the board protruding through a slot, (They didn't trim the extra mounts off the board because that edge holds the separator in place) The back panel is screwed with cheap nasty screws and on the minis one of those screws is the earth. Most of their units still carry the tiny .69 OLED display, the V4D has the larger screen but still ships with earlier revision software. It's hit and miss with a Hana purchase unless you research massive and hit up Julie your only contact at Hana direct.
A lady recently purchased that new V4 and claims the button can stick causing constant firing, also the trap door in the bottom can cause the device to wobble and fall over unless modified.
Should have bought the Vaporshark rDNA40, its compact and well built, specifically designed to house it's internals without glue, its 510 is bullet proof as well as having a gold plated pin, battery is easily removed, the buttons are not soldered but connect to a secondary board that has zip charging (as long as you have 2.1volt 5amp outlet) you can recharge your Hana's 5 hour charge battery the LG2500MAH HE2 in 1 hour & 40mins. It also has wireless charging though really this is more of a gimmick it's nice that they included it. The buttons are superb one that lights up blue upon firing also turns red for charging and green when charged, that tiny on-board L.E.D. that Hana uses that comes with the Evolve board is barely visible, moreso when a usb connector is obscuring most of it. Hana returns are virtually non existent, customer service is dependant upon Julie's mood lol and whether she's near the phone when it goes off, emails often never get responded to. Vaporshark respond faster now the hate has calmed down, they will pay for return shipping to the UK and replace faulty units with latest revision brand new ones. They are a business not box shifters like Hana.
