The specs look good and the device look solid. The chip looks promising as well. I was debating getting a T6 but the problems the T5 had, it kind of turned me away. BUT there is barely any first looks or info about this thing, and it was really just an impulse buy since I had a coupon so I got it for around $50. I already have the sigelei 50w which was borked since I got it, so this will replace that. Anyone have any hands on with this thing? I'm excited but also a little concerned :\

I was just curious since this is the flood of high powered box mods if anyone had any experience with this one that's not from sigelei, cloupor, or P4U.

Did you get it in hand yet? ACESMOK actually just sent me one for review, but I won't have it until early next week. It sure it sweet looking, but does not tell me anything about how it will perform. I ran across a post on FT from someone who said they loved it, but they didn't offer any detailed thoughts about it.

rounding third and heading home...
like most mods nowadays- sounds great and nowhere to be found. would be nice to know if this actually for sale anywhere(in the us)? or is this another "coming soon" teaser post? i like the look of the computer generated pics but unless it is real and for sale somewhere what is the point of starting a thread for opinions about a mod that no one has in the first place? how can anyone comment about when no one has one?

They're on eBay... My neighbor received one, and brought it over for me to throw on a load-tester. HORRIBLY inaccurate. For example, with a 1 ohm load, the mod should have been firing at say, 4.20v at it's set wattage level.. it would bounce around from 3.50-3.80v. The resistance reading on the Ace was between 1.3-1.4 ohms on the 1 ohm coil.

The cut-off is way too short IMO. My neighbor was also ...... about the battery level indicator being different compared to what was shown in the ad. I guess it's supposed to have an indicator similar to the DNA, but actually is just a numerical reading. The enclosure looked very nice though.. I would love to throw an SX350 into one. :2cool: The buttons are plastic. Just going by how nice the mod looks, and how neatly the electronics were done, one may think it could be a good mod.

I advised my neighbor to send it back, and stick with his VTR for awhile longer.. :) ;)

EDIT: LOL! I should have tested the Ace further before my neighbor sent it back. I was curious, and just watched a review which states the mod has NO short protection.. I would have tested this while I was messing with it if I would have known..

I find this difficult to believe.. I don't like to be hard on any reviewer's out there but... here it is.. If anything, it gives a good look at the mod:

Ya I saw that review too. Doesn't really bother me since I know what I'm doing with my gear. I'm wondering if it was overlooked, but that would be a pretty big thing to overlook o_O Oh well, I get it today and we'll see how she vapes.

I've been vaping for 4 years, and as much as I like to think I know what I'm doing, I wouldn't use a high-wattage electronic mod with no short protection.. It would be a flat-out safety hazard.. If indeed that feature is missing, (hopefully not, but the reviewer did state that his Rose atty with a known short which would heat-up a mech, would fire on the Ace) it's hard to tell what else is "missing".. ;) I do remember there was no way to really change settings in the mod, except for the wattage adjustment.

It will happily fry about anything you throw on it.. I will give it that from what I tested.. :)

EDIT: You may want to look into an SX350 mod, or a DNA 30/40.. The SX350 has been tested as highly accurate, with good safety features. Some are made with up/down buttons instead of the gravity sensor. There are decent deals on eBay from time to time on some nice box-mods. For example, this neatly done dual 18650 DNA30 for $135.00 or Offer:

I purchased a nice SX350 box mod from eBay recently for a little over $100.00 shipped.. :)

I ordered a half dozen to try out in my B&M. I will not be ordering more. Three worked fine. Two had the clip the charging/update cable plug into pop off. One had a twisted/out of shape 510 connection- it works fine if you dont mind keeping constant pressure on your atty to the left. Not a durable mod by any measure, and the usb plug was just a design problem waiting to happen.

Ya maybe not the best purchase. Maybe I'll just ship it back since I already have some dna30s and a few 50watts I wouldn't be missing out on much, if anything.

Did you end up keeping the device? If so, it would be helpful for others to know if the device will indeed fire through shorts. ;)

I ended up sending it back. It will fire through shorts. I had an atty that had a bad pin, and it would fire and not come up with any kind of "check atomizer" display. I figured I'll just send it back and get something a little more known and reliable.

Thanks for the info.. It was a wise move to send it back. ;) Like I posted before, keep an eye on eBay.. Talented mod-makers are offering nice mods at fair prices there. I have really been enjoying the SX350 box mod I snagged. The case is made for the SX350 with a single button. It has a media-blasted finish, and adjustable 510. The wiring job is nicely done also.. The SX350 it's self is highly accurate, has true step-down, and is able to be upgraded through the USB port. The battery level indicator is real-time.. I like how one can check battery voltage / sag / overall condition at a glance while firing. Here's a pic:

Nice. I'm really looking for a box mod that's 30w to whatever with a spring loaded pin that's under $100. I know there'es one from Smok that's releasing soo, the Xpro BT50 or something. Based on the video pbusardo did on the tube 50w they released, I'm going to stay away from it. I know the IPV3 and IPV2s have spring loaded pins. I may just do an IPV2s, since I really like my IPV2 I have now.
