And on that note, I have some background on me and then a few questions.

I am 18 years old and I have been smoking for two years now. I smoke about a pack a day (minus the one or two I bum out) of Camel Turkish Royals. I recently found out about the whole E-Cig scene and thought it sounded like a great idea as personally, I loathe the silly habit of smoking I got myself into.

Now for my questions:

  • What is the texture of the vapor like? (Similar to smoke?)
  • Can the throat hit be compared to an analog?
  • When I think vapor, I think moist, does the vapor feel moist in your throat?
  • I ordered the Turkish Blend from LiteCigUSA (Shawn is a great guy to work with) has anyone else tried it?
Thanks!

P.S. I ordered a VX2 (J118) anyone have any praise to give to this model?

Hey way to go on your 1st PV! I just got my Vx2 from litecigUSA in the mail today and I think I am really gonna like it!! one thing to be aware of is that it will take a small period of breaking in. Meaning that it is going to taste bad for a while. I recommend using the 5 carts that come with it first while you work through the bad taste (That's what I'm doing, then I'll move to other flavors) The vapor is a little like a real cigarette (analog) and doesn't feel moist in your throat. I find that the throat hit can vary greatly between models, and so far with my Vx2 the throat hit has been a little more than an analog. (I like a harsher throat hit most of the time). I haven't tried the turkish blend for flavors, but definitely let me know how it is.

For both my sake and Geo's does anyone know any good ways to get rid of the gross new attomizer taste fater than just vaping on it for a while?

I have a 901 and what I do to get rid of the super nasty primer taste is to blow it out of the atty, blow on the battery end of the atty, get all that gunk out of it. Then I use one of my stronger flavor juices and add three drops directly into the atty and use a cart without any filler and just puff away, not inhaling, until it is pretty dry, then do it again. That usually takes care of the nasty primer flavor pretty quickly.

* What is the texture of the vapor like? (Similar to smoke?) yes, a lot like smoke but much beter tasting.
* Can the throat hit be compared to an analog? Pretty close to it. Just depends on the juice and what type of ecig you bought.
* When I think vapor, I think moist, does the vapor feel moist in your throat? It doesnt feel any more moist than a regular cig to me.
* I ordered the Turkish Blend from LiteCigUSA (Shawn is a great guy to work with) has anyone else tried it? No, but I have tried the Turkish form Ruyan Direct and I like it a lot.

Thanks for the quick reply Tc! I learned about this break in period from other posts around the forum. I'm not too worried about it but if there is a way to get rid of the terrible taste I'd be very interested to know! And if there isn't, how long is that period?

Oh, and how is the vapor production? I always loved playing with the smoke on my analogs so I'm interested to know how the VX2 performs.

I have been told that this will burn out the battery on the VX2 as the atomizers shape causes the liquid to drip down. I do not want to try this! Any other ways?

Hey Geo, as far as blowing through the Vx2 I did try it and it helped a little. Instead of dripping after you do thisjust let the cart sit on the for a minute or two while you set it with the battery end down. I know other people say not to do this, but if it is only temporary then it should be fine. (worked fine for me) I do still have a bad taste, but I am just slowly working through it. I think that taking things slowly when you first break in a PV is the way to go so you don't burn out the atty by vapin too much too quickly!!

In general you are taking a chance dripping on most atomizers connected to an automatic battery, not just the VX2 (J118). My opinion is that dripping is overrated. I don't do it nearly as much as I used to, unless I'm getting a burning taste from the atty. More often than not I think dripping causes new users to flood their attys, creating problems with performance. Just make sure your cart never gets too dry and you should never really have to drip directly on the atomizer.

You have already ordered a VX2 and I really don't think you'll get any nasty taste from the brand new atomizer. It might take a day or so to break in and get it's best performance, but from my experience I've never had problems with a bad taste with a new VX2 atomizer. Of course, you mileage may vary! :)

Well that's good to know. Did it help the taste a lot or just a little? I wonder if maybe repeating that process would help. I.E. Taking some puffs, blowing out the atty then letting it sit for a minute or two, repeat.

It helped just a little, I was thinking about blowin out the atty again, but I'm bein kinda lazy right now haha. I also don't really want to take too many chances with this PV right now since I don't have any previous experience with this model. It does seem to be giving off more vapor now though. I am so far impressed at my 2 hrs of use with this model!!:D

Ordered mine last night and was told by Shawn that it was shipped out today. So hopefully I'll have it by Wednesday.

I can't wait to save up some more money and get a PV with a manual switch!! People seem to really like those! I'm thinking a 501 might be good. Really I want to be able to have all the models haha. I am kind of curious about refilling my Vx2's carts since they have a foil covering over them. I don't remember if it was Wegster of Figurehead (two other members that have some great advice on the Vx2) but one of them said all you have to do is pull off the foil and refill like normal.

Yes, just pull the foil off and refill. In fact in you are using the pre-filled carts you can pull/cut the foil off before you put it in for the first time.

Is there a performance difference with vs. without the foil?

No, if anything I think the performance would be better without the foil on it.

Maybe, and I really stress the 'maybe' part, the juice won't evaporate as fast if you leave the foil on when you insert the pre-filled cart. Personally I think the manufacturer puts the foil on there to seal up the pre-filled carts just because it's cheaper than putting a plastic cap on it.
