I'm new to the eCig stuff, and I was wondering...why is there a battery in the USB passthrough I bought here? I thought the passthrough was just a wire straight from the USB port to the atty.
While I do not profess to be a techno-guru by any means, I will do my best to answer your question.
I believe there is a two-fold purpose to JOYE manufacturing their Passthrough with the in-line battery.
First would be voltage regulation. Not all USB ports have the output necessary to power a passthrough. The battery will ensure that no matter what the source, there is ample voltage for the PT to function properly.
And the second advantage is that the battery alone will power the PT while the battery has charge. This allows you to unplug from the USB source and roam freely while vaping. Pretty clever in my opinion.
Hope this helps.
