I would like to make an announcement. My mailbox just gave birth to a healthy, happy, 7? ounce, brand new Silver Variable Voltage Reo Grand!! I was so happy I called Robert on the phone to personally thank him. I probably came off as a looney but that was the adrenaline. :)

P.S. My apologies for calling around dinner time, 7pm

How's the mailbox doing?

We want pics!!!

I am sure he loved the call!

Congratulations! I got mine today too! Right after welcoming it to the family, setting it up with my a7 and installing a fresh battery I hit the fire button...And promptly melted the spring. It appears my A7 has a short my evic didn't catch? I'm not sure, but not taking another chance with it. I installed a new spring, ordered 3 more spares and am now waiting for a Hornet in the mail. I should be good to go again Wednesday. I must say, it's the nicest mod I've had the privilege of being patient for so far!

Your evic or the meter might not pick up a short. It is because the post on the bottom wobbles when it is down enough to fire on some REO's. You can stabilize it by putting some pieces of cartos condom around the post. I usually use a 510/510 adapter with my A7's because they have posts that are stable.

Don't feel too bad, my daughter shorted around 7 springs with the A7's. I had one short myself before stabilizing the post.

I couldn't take it! I clean house of old vape stuff regularly, so my only choice was to fix the A7. I made a fresh coil and put some carto condom around the bottom positive post/screw. The post can't move or make contact with the side again so I felt save. All good and Wow!!

This is exactly what I was looking for! Durable, simple and better than everything else I've tried so far...The hype is well deserved. I'm very happy with my decision and already have an Atty coming for my next REO! The red vv's look so lonely on the website...

Resistance is futile. Just snap it up an worry about explaining it later. I have a one coming my way that I told her I was getting and regular grand haven't yet. I'll figure out something between now and Wednesday.

You are going to vape your face clean off with that atty. stock hornets don't come with a coil, let alone a 1.5 ohm micro coil :)

Would you mind posting a picture of the setup with the carto condom?

I have a black a7 on the way for my grand and would like to avoid this happening in my first week of Reo ownership, if possible.

manglepup, I've been looking and looking for the picture of the A7 fix. nerak (Karen) is the one who came up with it and posted pics....if she doesn't see this post (or the other one in the thread you started), you could PM her and ask her where those pics are.

Jan

EDIT: Basically, you cut up a carto condom and put little pieces around the post to hold it solid. You need to leave some space for the air intake, so use just enough to hold it straight. And be sure the post is screwed in so that it doesn't stick out very far past the threads, but enough that it'll make contact.

Thank you for posting that nerak!

When I leave for work in the morning I load up an old pipe pouch with all my supplies for the day as I'm usually gone 14 hours. I carry at least 3 Vivi Novas, extra juice, my evic with extra battery and tube or charger, some wick, wire and simple tools to rebuild. Today, I tossed a new battery in my REO and walked out the door! 2013-03-19_10-45-06_948_zps2016fc09.jpg Less than 24 hours and i love this thing!

Now that's funny. Yes, you will become so spoiled so quickly you won't even remember your pre-REO days.... :)
