Hey,

I just purchased a provari after reading all the good reviews and having used my prodigys for the last couple of years. Excited to try something new and hoping it holds up as well as the devices Ive been using. Definitely looking forward to the variable voltage settings. So many new things in the e-cig world since I last hung around these parts.

Thanks,
Chris

Received the Provari today. Seems very well built..Solid. Had also purchased a tank and the 1.5 single cartos. The Provari vapes great with my regular 510 attys being dripped, but for the life of me, I cant find a sweet spot between inhaling burnt filler and flooding the carto.

I can fill the carto, put the tank on and get 3-4 good hits then burnt flavor the rest of the time. let it sit and see if the tank wicks ....10 minutes later...still burnt and getting worse. Add a drop or two into the carto and it floods. Any suggestions?

Are you putting two holes in the carto. What pg/vg ratio? What ohm carto . A SR would be good in the range of 4.5-5v .Higher then 5v will often burnt the filler. Remember the provari is putting out mor power than most mods set at the same voltage .5v would be a true 5v to the carto where other mods would drop the voltage under load.

The more I look at it...the less positive I feel about it all....There needs to be a consistency to a product when sold and it should work as intended right off the shelf 95% or more of the time. Purchasing the product and then having to do things yourself to get it to work right seems pretty pointless and irritating. Theres no reason I should be punching holes in cartomizers every time I need to use one or after I just get a set in and risk damaging it.

It's not the Provari that your having problems with its the tank and carto and that's a whole other learning curve

Yeah, I tried to make that clear in my post earlier that the provari was vaping great...but the tank and cartos I purchased from provape werent.

Ive been vaping a good while now so the learning curves aren't as significant as if I started this year.

Its because cartos werent designed for tanks . When tanks came out the only way to use them is to make two holes. You could just use the cartos as they were intended by the manufacturer and not use them in a tank. With one of the special made carto punches theres really no chance of damging it.

When cartos are sold with the holes and mentioned what they are for it is absolutely assumed.

Took apart half of the carts I purchased and the 2 I first used and 1 of the unused ones looked the same. 2 of the other unopened ones looked more "correct".

It appeared as if the tubing in the cartos of the first 3 were broken or not fitted right around the coiling and had small tears in it. The other 2 unused ones looked straight and evenly distributed. Put them back together, primed it, threw it in the tank, filled it up and been using it now for an hour+ without the burning taste. So at this point i'm going to attribute my problem to defects in a couple of cartos and not the whole tank system as this one seems to be working much better right off the bat than the other 2 had.

I appreciate the help...my frustration level is starting to drop off and the Hulk has been repressed :p

Yeah...I figured if I was buying the provari from them, I may as well get the tank that is sold by them which should work with the provari, and the cartos that should work with the tank. That logic generally works with vaping supplies ..hehe

Im going to take a couple cartos to work tomorrow at the firehouse and drill press a couple holes to see the difference it makes.

Right now, It seems to still be working well enough. The only difference Im noticing between dripping and the tank system is the flavor decrease using the carto and tank. Wonder if 2 holes might wick more fluid and make the flavor a bit stronger.
