Im very psyched atm. Picked up so 30 gauge coil and 3mm silica wick from local shop this afternoon. Got of work and just rebuilt my first atomizer! Followed guidance of some videos used 4 coils and measured this head at 1.3 ohms. Fired up the vivi nova at 3.2v on the c-twist.....very good vapor and flavor. Cranked it up to 4v and WOW. Ive not had vapor production and flavor like this yet. I was hoping to come in around 1.3 ohms....Beginners luck i guess lol. This was terribly simple to do. Thanks to all who came before me for the great guidance on these forums! Gotta get back to vaping this thing!

EDIT: looks like 4v is way to much. 3.2v for too long starts to burn.

EDIT: 1.3 ohms is too low for this combo of bat and 3mm silica wick. The wick cant keep up, but thats a general problem i find with the nova.

That's great gammaxgoblin!! As far as your burning is concerned it can be one or both of the following. A lot of heat can burn the rubber plug where your ground wire terminates, and the 3mm wick can run low on juice on longer draws. If you look up vids on joining no res wire to your 30ga, using the no res for your legs, all the heat will go to your coil taking care of the rubber taste if you ever get it. If your feeling adventurous you can either deepen and or widen your wick slots or cut some of the material on your top hat to get 2 3mm wicks in there. combine both and your resistance will stay close to where you are now because of the no res wire legs and your wick will hold a lot more juice. Cut the restrictive top off the positive pin and open up the air channels a very little bit (a little goes a long way on air mods).

My favorite vivi has a 6mm coil at 1.5ohm and a 3mm over wick. 9mm of wick lets me draw for ever before going dry and the rubber plug never gets hot enough to burn. Everything is tight enough to still be able to fill it to the top and not gurgle or leak.

So many things have come after the vivi but I still love them because they are so easily adapted to what ever you want weather its a crap load of silica like mine or bamboo like AnthomX uses or even SS mesh. Unless your modding air flow your really only risking binning a $2 head so its a very inexpensive way to tinker.

The best part is you never have to buy any heads unless you bin one now. The home made ones always work better and you now that there isn't any machine oil on your wire and the quality of the wicks are up to you.

On one of mine I went too big drilling a hole in the base and chipped the tank, leaks all over the place. Now I use it as a dripper to sample flavors, even when broken they have a use.
