You beat me to it. That was Josh Harris, his father Phil was the captain that died this season of at least two massive strokes and had previously had a blood clot pass into his lung. Toward the end they had purchased an e-cig for Phil and he had dropped from, now get this, nine and a half packs per day to around one and a half. Unfortunately it was too late to make the difference he needed.

I just literally walked past my tv and saw him with it and mention it as "this electronic thing and seems to be working pretty well" or something along those lines.

9 packs a day is just scary, but how many hours for him was a day? It's not like they slept much. When I've pulled 40-50 hrs awake in a row, I would smoke 5+ packs...

Granted their hours are long (40 at a stretch is pretty normal I think.) and the stress is high, but I've seen just as bad. A supervisor at the plant my first husband worked at brought a brand new carton of cigarettes in every morning. I know Discovery cameramen would occasionally show Phil lighting one cigarette off the next between cans of Red Bull. He admitted he had an extremely addiction prone personality.

Let's see, it takes at least 4 min. to smoke a cig. 9 packs is 180 cigs. 180 x 4 = 720 min. 720 divided by 60 = 12 hours of constant smoking every freakin' day!
That gives the average person only 4 waking hours of air a day. So what killed him?

Here are some threads about Josh Harris and electronic cigarettes...

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-news/71745-deadliest-catch-ecigarette.html
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-news/103184-josh-harris-new-e-cig-spokesman.html
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vapor4life/104149-e-cig-spotted.html

There was a movement afoot to get up the funds to send him a Chuck in one of those threads.
But he appears to be a hired spokesperson for inLife electronic cigarettes.

Not a bad thing, but not the best thing either necessarily...
