Noob here, and just introducing myself. Smoker on and off for 40 years. Quit for 13 years but started back up about a year ago. I enjoy smoking but know I need to save my lungs (and money!) so vaping looks like a nice option. I'm extremely glad I found this forum while doing research on ecigs. There are so many
brands/models of e-cigarettes for sale at such varying prices that I was totally confused until I sat down and started reading the posts in your forum. I'm still somewhat confused but not quite so much now!

You have an excellent forum and I'm looking forward to continuing my vaping education. The posts by DonDaBoomVape were excellent and helped me become knowledgeable enough that I have ordered a starter kit (an inexpensive FS eGo from mypvpshop) to see if vaping is for me. In any event I have to quit analog cigarettes again but this may let me keep the enjoyment without the respiratory problems. Hopefully I won't ask too many dumb questions. Thanks again for the great forum.

I as well am a 30 year smoker I never really wanted to quit I like smoking and when these finally came available locally up here in northern Canada I jumped right in the first week was hard getting to swap over I was vaping and smoking but the second week analogs started tasting bad and vaping tasted so much better and was more satisfying. It has only been 30 days but I feel good no withdrawal symptoms as of yet I do not even crave analogs anymore even when someone else is smoking it's unbelievable I though when I started just another gimmick that I am going to lose a ton of money too and still end up smoking I was so wrong so when you get it don't give up look at it this way we had to learn to smoke analogs so now we must teach ourselves to Vape.

I've quit smoking 3 times in 40 years, the first time I weaned myself off with a pipe, slowly tapering off because it was a pita with all the cleaning. I quit for 3 years that time. The last two times I quit I did it with the nicotine patches and the longest I lasted before starting up again was 13 years. The fact of the matter is I like smoking but know it's really bad for me. I have shortness of breath and the cough. In addition I pay 20% extra on health insurance for being a smoker and the company I work for has recently gone to a no smoking policy on company grounds or in the company tractors (I'm a trucker) which has made smoking awfully inconvenient. I'm hoping I have the same experience with vaping as you and as I read the posts from others on this forum with similar experiences I'm very optimistic! :)

Thx to all for the replies and encouragement, I can't wait till my kit arrives.

Not sure if vaping will help with at all with your insurance payments I think I have read about another person who swapped over and their insurance company said that they are still considered a smoker cause they are called ecig's I am not 100% positive if this is the case with all states or provinces but something you may need to investigate. In any case as improving health it will do that for sure I feel so much better even after just 30 days and analogs taste and smell horrible already.I have never had any luck quitting the patch I was allergic hypnosis never stayed laser did not do a thing for me the nicorette inhaler was the closest I got to quitting at a week but was more expensive then smoking so this 30 days is the longest I have ever been able to quit for in 30 years I stand behind this so much that I am going to take my saving and invest in some units and juice and sell locally to friends and family who are computer illiterate and don't want to worry about orders and stuff and I will teach them everything they need to know so they won't have problems and go back to smoking analogs.
