Just starting out vaping and going right into cloud chasing? Best setup to change flavors quickly is an RDA (Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer), but those are in the advanced level if you are already confused. To do it right you need to understand "Ohm's Law" which relates to battery safety and battery chemistries, in a DC electrical circuit, mainly how much "Current (Amperage)" you pull from a battery, going Sub-Ohm, any ohm rating below 1 full ohm is sub-ohm. Ohm's are the resistance within an electrical circuit which resists the flow of electrons, lower you go in Ohm rating, the higher amperage of a circuit.

In Ohm's Law there are 4 variables that all relate together, change 1 the other 3 variables alter
Voltage = Flow of electrons from negative to positive
Restistance (Ohm's) = Restriction
Wattage = Final working power
Amperage = Pressure behind the flow of electrons

A battery has to be able to handle and deliver the necessary voltage and amperage, example, a Lithium Ion battery fully charged is roughly 4.2 volts, with a 1 Ohm resistance is approximately 4.2amperes (Voltage divided by resistance = Amperes), a 1/2 (0.5 ohm) resistance would be 8.4 amperes, 0.25ohm resistance would 16.8 amperes, 0.15 ohm resistance 28amperes. You don't dive off a cliff into a river head first without knowing the depth of the river before the water can safely buffer your fall and slow it down (Ohms, resistance). We all have to crawl before we learn to walk, and we all have to learn to walk before we can run. Cloud chasing takes a lot of technical learning and skill to do so safely and reliably.

Have to know Ohm's Law, a basic understanding of how dangerous electricity truly is, have to stay up on the safest batteries and their chemistries, learn what equipment is available and how it operates, how to troubleshoot a problem if one arises, and how to create a coiled resistor safely to put into any circuit. Battery though it can deliver a say 20 amp Continuous Discharge, if you ask it to deliver a 40amp load for 5 to 10 seconds, battery overheats, begins to boil, then vent violently at several hundred degrees either as a jet or as an explosion. Advanced level also means it becomes very expensive, initial investment in gear, not to mention the expense of disposables (liquid as this level burns the most out of any other level, resistance wire (to build coils), and batteries (as pulling the amount of current required heats batteries up, changes their chemistry, decreases their efficiency and life expectancy). A good setup to start without getting into the rebuilding level just yet, gets the initial investment out of the way.

1) A good battery charger, you'll need a 4 bay Li Ion charger, you'll want from top best to minimum, Pila, Xtar, Efest LUC, or Nitecore (i4 or D4)
2) 4 Good batteries - Sony VTC4 2100mah or the Xtar 30amp 2100 (Rewrap of the Sony VTC4) both 30amp CDR and still the king of batteries for vaping (IMO), Orbtronic SX30 (30amp CDR), LG HE2/HE4 (20amp CDR), Samsung 25R (20amp CDR)
3) A good regulated mod, Kanger KBox Mini, IPV Mini V2 (70watts Max output), IPV V2S (65watts Max Output), Sigelei 50watt, Sigelei 100watt (Dual Battery, you'll need to pair batteries, buy together, charge together, use together, never break the marriage of them so mark them as pair 1A 1B, 2A 2B, etc), Sigelei 150watt (Dual Battery, see Sigelei 100watt), IPV V4 (100 watt dual battery see Sigelei 100watt), IPV V3 (150watt dual battery, see Sigelei 100watt), IPV V3Li V2 (165watt dual battery see Sigelei 100watt)
4) A Sub-ohm tank, Atlantis V2, Kanger Subtank. These tanks have prebuilt sub-ohm coil heads that are replaceable, good air flow, good flavor, and decent cloud production. This gives you an idea what sub-ohming cloud chasing is about while you get your head wrapped around the technicals of Ohm's Law and such before diving into RDAs and rebuilding yourself.

Stay safe out there.

Sorry, jumped to many conclussions, seen your join date after posting, keeping up for others benefit.

/Edit2
RDA I'd look at a Dark Horse, Mutation X, Doge, Tugboat, possibly a Madhatter or even a Derringer (Cloud to Flavor order)

I would start off simple. A regulated mod and a tank with replaceable coil heads like the above post says. Everyone has different preferences so I won't tell you exactly what to buy. I think the best advise I can give you is to research the crap out of anything before you buy it. Look for reviews and youtube videos so you can get an idea of the pros and cons, search for problems that other people have had fixes for those problems. Even so, you may still end up buying something that you don't like.
It's a learning process so don't expect the first setup you buy to be a competition cloud chasing rig. You may find out that you prefer good flavor over clouds anyway.

I'd maybe look into a iStick 50 with a Subtank.

The 50 has enough power for you to play around with until you feel you're ready to move on to something more advanced.

The Subtank is a great tank that will give you decent clouds with prebuilt, no hassle coils, and has that sweet RBA deck for you to practice your own coil builds on.

Once you get comfortable with that, you can check out various RDAs and RTAs since your iStick 50 can handle them, but you're eventually going to want something with more power.

I normally don't recommend mechanical mods to beginners. A regulated (powered by a processor, and containing protection circuitry) mod is a better choice.

If you still choose to go with a mechanical mod, choose a "safer" one with a recessed side firing button:

As you're new to vaping, please start with a regulated device. (Do research posted above and make sure you know everything before you even look at buying a mech, and then hybrid mech mods are another level above that)
I don't recommend jumping straight into cloud chasing either.

IMO the best sub-ohm kit on the market at the moment is the Kangertech Subox kit. 50w mod with replaceable battery (You'll need High drain batteries like Samsung 25r, Sony VTC 4/5 or LG HE4, there are others but these are the ones I recommend.) Kangertech Subtank Mini (Provides you with both stock coils you can buy to cut down on the "technical" aspect and it also includes a rebuildable base which you can us to practice building and wicking your own coils)

Either way you need to understand battery safety and ohm's law. You're better off spending time learning than not spending much time of anything because you've blown your hand or face off.

Im so scared of buying the wrong vaporizer with the wrong cobo and sub ohm or hom... oh man Im so confused I wish it was much less techinical.

I just wanna blow clouds!! what do you guys suggest the best set up to get going with vaping but I want to blow clouds and be able to change the flavors around when I want!

Get an rda and some 28 gauge kanthal.
And for power, you can start with an istick30

Members: how to answer questions here | E-Cigarette Forum

ECF members are extremely helpful to newcomers, as a rule, but we may sometimes pitch the advice a little high. Maybe too much tech stuff or slang. In particular, we might sometimes push new members too far as regards fashion or technology. Because of that, there are 2 major rules in this board:

1. Don't baffle them with slang: explain it simply.

2. No mechmods or RBAs here please. Don't even mention them - thank you.

If newcomers are thinking about upgrading from a mini, then suggest an eGo + clearo or something like that - and explain why. Or something that won't blow their mind trying to figure it all out. Thanks!

so....Moved this to New Members from Simple Solutions

Concur: get a medium power regulated mod (iStick 20/30/50, iTaste MVP 2.0/3.0/3.0 pro, there's a gazillion of them) and a Kanger SubTank. I'd suggest staying away from any tank without pre-made coils or a mod with removable batteries for starters. There's a lot to learn before you go there, and it would be easy to blow a ton of bucks in the process of blowing yourself up because you didn't know what you were doing.

No Worries.

And No Need to be Stressed. Because All the Hardware today is Pretty Darn Good. And just about Anything you get will work about 100x better than what I started with.

LOL

I'm sure you will get some Solid Advice. And Welcome to the ECF.

Study, study, study...and just when you think you've got it, study some more.

Im with those who advise against building right away. You can get decent clouds with a good sub-ohm tank and a regulated mod that can handle the load. My personal opinion is the aspire atlantis chucks a pretty great cloud and would work well on just about any 50w mod available. It doesnt have a rebuild option but im not big on putting the weapon in someones hand unless im sure they know how to use it. I would also recommend a 50/50 PG/VG ratio for your juices, good flavor and its a good ratio for clouds.

Building attys is very rewarding, fun and exciting to do but there is alot of research that needs to be done before anyone should attempt it.
