I tried switching to vaping about 6 months ago with a pure e-cig and the cost for replacement parts was almost as much as continuing to smoke a pack a day. My husband and I both smoked and it costed us roughly $360/month for cigs. Last month we decided to try again due to limited funds (we are both currently nursing students with only part-time income) and we managed with the pure cigs but still purchased analogs here and there. Since I bought my Joye and refillable cartos we have not purchased a single pack of smokes and I absolutely LOVE the watermelon rancher eJuice from GoodeJuice.com. My husband prefers traditional menthol flavors but one of the things I love about vaping is all of the sweet flavors to try. Being a nursing student, I can't smoke during clinicals (which are 11 hour days) because the hospital's campus is "tobacco free" and they have a policy regarding scents on a nurse's clothing (including the smell of cig smoke). By vaping I can walk out any door of the hospital and vape and if I can't get off the floor for a nicotine hit, I can escape into the bathroom :p

Once I reach my required five posts I will be reviewing quite a few flavors from GoodeJuice which is my main supplier for juices.

Also, I was curious if anyone else has successfully managed to step down to no nicotine after being a 15+ year smoker? I have to have a fusion surgery done in May and nicotine is one of the issues that can cause a rejection of the bone graft (I have done the research and its not one of the thousands of other chemicals in cigs, it is actually the nicotine). Even if I do step down to no nicotine I plan to continue vaping as it feeds my hand-to-mouth addiction and helps to keep my from overeating (I am one of those people that when they get bored they eat, so instead I vape).

Welcome and Congrats butterflyrose :)

I've been able to step down my nic level in the last six months from 18 to 12mg. I smoked for 48 yrs. I'm sure you can do it! Just keep trying by lowering a little with each juice order. Keep some higher nic level liquid on hand for those really stressful times when you are really craving an analog.

Best of luck to you. :)

Hi butterfly! Congratulation for your 6 months. I was a 1 & 1/2 pack Red Marlboro / day smoker before I switched to vaping. I was using 24mg e-liquids for 3 months, after that I was using 18mg, and for now I'm using 12mg & 6mg e-liquids. I know you can step down just as I did. I'm not planning to use 0mg though, cause 0mg e-liquids don't have any throat hit at all. Good luck to you. Oh, I forgot to tell you this: if you are planning to cut down your nic, try a higher voltage pv because higher voltage makes stronger throat hit. Sweet flavors are great between 3.2-4.2 volts IMHO.
510s are 3.2-3.3 volts device, Ego are the same.
