I just joined the forum last night, and I am glad I'm here. I tried my first e-cig in November, and decided that I could quit smoking with these. I have smoked for over 40 years, tried LOTS of approaches to quitting, nothing worked. Now that I have discovered vapor, I haven't had an analog in over 6 weeks. I first tried disposables, then V-2 cigs in many flavors, now I am using a Silver Bullet with a tank. I love the SB, the tank holds plenty of juice, but the cartos lifespan is disappointing. With some juices, 60/40, it seems to wear out cartos in a couple days. If I use Halo Torque, they seem to last much longer. I am thinking Halo uses a much thinner, higher pg mix. If anyone can share any insight into this, I appreciate it. Also, if anyone knows of a great place to buy tank cartos, let me know. Finally, I am curious about attys and dripping, what is the advantage? Thanks for reading, I know it was kinda long winded.:)

I think I read somewhere that some flavorings can also affect the lifetime of the cartomizers. I think I've seen it mentioned that darker, sugary flavors can be hard on them. Haven't really had too many get gunked and burned tasting on me (only maybe three or so), but I am starting to get more of a sweet tooth as far as flavorings! Caramels, Toffees, French Vanilla coffee....*YUM*

But finding the vendors that sell them for about a buck 25 a piece or less...if it lasts me a week of true vaping time, I figure to be ahead of the game.

I have been keeping the filled cartos with whatever juice is in them, and rotate flavors so I'm not hitting the same carto all the time. I figure at some point, they will all start to go bad on me, but perhaps by that time I'll be stepping down the nic level and trading them out any ways...

Welcome, Ragnarok!

in my experience, it's the flavorings and/or sweeteners that are a major cause of premature carto death, and vg/pg ratio has very little, if anything, to do with it. in fact, i now use a 100% vg DIY juice and my boge 2.0's last for weeks (i use only clear flavorings and ethyl maltol to add a hint of sweetness).

As rocket rod said it is an advantage to use dripping as it can help you test flavors to see if you like them. Only thing I see wrong with it is that you may get a little juice in your mouth and possibly a dry burn if you don't keep it wet. Also I believe that you could possibly flood it and get some juice on the battery as well if you put too many drops on the atomizer. But you don't want to forget about having a drip tip as well as you can't exactly do it too well without one.

Thanks to everyone for the quick responses. I went ahead and ordered some cartos from crystal clear, pretty low priced and close to Chicago. Free shipping! I will attend Vape Bash in Chicago at the end of March, and see about getting an atty. There seem to be several ways to use an atty, and I don't know which is which. Dripping, bottom fed, LR, I need an education about this method.
