Hi,

I've been lurking around here for the past week and finally decided to register and say thank you all! I've gone 10 days without a cigarette and I doubt it would have gone so well without this forum to look stuff up and generally get support - even if you all didn't know it, I've been getting it. I've been a pack and a half a day smoker for about 25 years, so this is an amazing accomplishment!

So many of you say it gets easier, and I love the banners that show how long you've gone without smoking - it's given me hope. So I've soldiered on, not really knowing what I'm doing, going through different tanks, including leaky and gurgly EVODs and burnt juice. ARGH. Just today I bought a protank that I'm excited to try out. Slowly but surely I'm even getting there with the verbiage and understanding what you all are talking about, but haven't gotten beyond using the word "thingy" entirely!

I have been very impressed with the way you all greet newcomers and patiently answer our questions. You don't see this type of kindness everywhere so I wanted to say thank you. This is a great site. And now that I've gotten this far I expect I'll be around for a while. So hi, and thank you!

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your 10 days. You are well on your way and this forum has a ton of help and helping people. I am over my 6 month mark and if I can do it after being a 2+ pack a day smoker for over 38 years you can do it too. Ecigs can also be a fun hobby if you choose that route like DIY and if not it is a great way to get rid of analog smokes and all the bad things that come with them.

Keep up the positive attitude and vape away

A big welcome to ECF and to the new hobby!
Used to be a heavy smoker due to stress from work and almost every other breath during my shift was from an analog. Now ive made the transition and am at least glad I make rooms in my house and the interior of my car smell like mango or a flower bed than a darn analog sanctuary!

Hope the protank works out for you. Heard a lot of praises for it. My husband LOVES it now.
Congrats on the healthy switch and lifestyle!

10 days wasn't that long ago for ourselves either. I was a 2 PPD smoker for 37 years and my spousal unit smoked as well.

I tried so many things over the years and nothing worked, until this. You'll get the hang of it with time. I found that the chat room is a great place to get real time technical information. Nice bunch of folks in there too.

Welcome to the club.

See I said you all were nice! Thanks for all the kind words!

So I'm using a Vision 1100 spinner but have a 1300 on the way. Protank I'll be trying this evening when I get home. I'm pretty lucky in that there are B&M stores nearby, several of them, so I can pop by and try different things if needed. My big problem is the dang tanks! I thought the EVOD thing would be good and I hope I don't end up hating the bottom feeding thing because the protank is also bottom feeding I believe. But over and over I've heard good things about the protank, so I'm giving it a whirl.

I like the ability to use several different juices, and assuming I like the protank, the budget isn't going to be there for me to buy 10 of them, hah! I also don't like to tinker too much. So I'm going to need a cheaper, smaller fall-back for fun stuff that isn't my all day at work juice. I like sampling! If anyone has insight into good, smaller and cheaper tanks, I would love to hear it. Also any thoughts on bottom feeding: good or bad? I'll let you know how this all works out! Thanks again for all your insight, wisdom, and support. This quitting smoking gig has been more fun that I would have thought!

I mainly use carto-tanks, but have put a protank-2 in my rotation. For me bottom coils is the way to go. I did find that the taste of the juice needs a little time to absorb into the wicks, so by the 2nd tank it gets better. Now on my 6th or 7th tank on the protank2 and its still hitting like it did when I first put it on. I will say that the juice will determine how often it needs cleaned. Darker, thicker juice will gunk up the wick and coils faster than a clear juice. My juice is clear so maybe that's why it is lasting so long.
