I took my first step into mechanicals and ordered a K100 yesterday. I know the "drip shield" is really just a beauty shield because it has no o rings in it. I was wondering if anyone has fitted o rings into it to use it as a drip shield or if you can get a shield that fits it. I also ordered a rda to mess around with that. If anyone else has one of these and has an advice to someone completely new to it please share any thoughts or tips, thanks.

Although one could find an o-ring that fits inside, there's no channel to hold it, so it would be difficult to put and keep it in place. I think of it as a cone, and in fact an eGo cone fits on the threads. Better to purchase a drip shield - with a short 510 extension, any will work.

After using it for some time, two things come to mind - first, lightly lubricate the threads when you get it, and second, if you want to shorten the button throw you can flip button top batteries to reduce the throw. The K-100 works great for me and I bet you'll enjoy yours too!

Is this good or bad? Mine should be here tomorrow, so I'm just wondering!
Most people, including myself, would say that is good. No wires to get damaged, frayed, or have to worry about them getting wet. Makes maintenance and cleaning very simple. In a nutshell there is very little that can go wrong with a fully mechanical device.

Mine actually had less voltage drop out of the box than either the ChiChi/KTS or Natural. Of course with some modding to both that changed.

Only problem I have with my K100 is it seems the AGA-T+ has butchered the threads a bit (no I never over-tighten, very careful about that). It's weird, because the AGA-T+ used to fit perfect but now it pushes in pretty far before it threads, and even then it's not much and feels sloppy. But when I put something else on the K100 it fits almost perfect, still a little top end slop, but not much, not near as bad as the AGA-T+. And the AGA-T+ seems to thread into other devices just fine. Going to try to get a tap and die and see if I can fix it. It still works, it just feels very cheap now.

To clarify. The K100 has a standard 510 connection. Any ego device which uses the 510 threads will work.

Anything needing ego threading (the threading on the outside of the 510) will need an adapter.

People always confuse 510 and ego threading. 510 threading is on the inside ... ego threading is on the outside.

The k100 has both 510 and ego threading. I use kanger evods on mine quite often. Some clearos with a larger base may not fit in the recess, but otherwise ego threaded items should work.
