I hate metal drip tips, so I'm never going to try them. I also don't know how the metal tips will stop leaking. There are no cracks in any of my tips, so if you have cracks, maybe they are the older versions. You can get the newer tips from many sites.
Every time I fill, I slightly raise the seal and let the tip seat it. I've never had any issues with leaking as I've always done it this way.
One other thing to look at:
The wife has dropped hers a few times and she also didn't screw the heads on all the way. Then when she tightened the tip, it popped the top silver ring up as it's only glued. Then when she fixed the head, there was a gap from the tip to the seal.
Just something to look for.
Thanks for the advice. I have new plastic and aluminum tips coming. I will give my thoughts on the aluminum tips when I get them. Should be this week. I am suppose to have all new tips but think they are mixed up with my old ones. Anyway I will mark the new tips some how and keep them separated. I have leaks coming out of my air holes at the bottom too and blaming that leak on the tips but don't know for sure.
Some from the tip. I can feel the juice around the bottom of the tip and see the crack at the bottom to almost to the top of the tip. I have some tips that broke off. I may have srewed some to tight when I first got them but I don't do that anymore. The two air holes on the bottom will leak on a few of them.
I really do want these to be just like they did when I first got them. I thought they were perfect. The vender did send me new extra tips for those that I bought, but I wasn't having any problrms so I didn't change them. I had bought around 10 to 15 by then and have bought more since. Weeks later a few started leaking then more started leaking. I'm hoping now with the knowledge I've gained from ECF folks I'll do better and they"ll stop leaking.
There was a problem with the tips cracking which is why they started sending out extra tips but that really shouldn't be an issue anymore with them. They do sell replacement plastic tips, you could try replacing them, or contact the vendor for help. How long have you had them?
If they're leaking from the bottom that usually means the head isn't screwed down all the way. Sometimes when you unscrew the tip it will unscrew the head along with it, so it can be a little loose without you realizing it. Make sure they are screwed down all the way. The only other times I've had leaks was when the head had gotten really dirty and clogged up, for some reason it makes them leak.
Thanks njay. I already knew about the heads unscrewing so I check that every time I fill with juice. Didn't know about the dirty heads though. I've been cleaning a few for the last couple of days. Some are still drying but don't want to use the ones already cleaned and dry because I want to put my new tips on them. They should me here next week and this time I'm going to mark them. That was my mistake when I first started buying the Kanger 2.4.
Thank You. Thank You. njay. I'm a happy lady. Never even thought about my heads being dirty. I was so focus on the tips cracking, I would just put all my leaking Kanger tips in a old ash tray and grab another tip but still had leaking problems. Now this AM I am using 3 aluminum tip and 3 new plastic tips on 6 batteries and they are all vaporing like the new Kangers 2.4 that I fell in love with.
BTW, because of this I now clean them very often. Every day or 2. Pull off all of the silicone and rinse them, then if you can pop off the top little metal piece. Rinse the head off well and wrap it in a paper towel to get the excess water off. Do a dry burn until the smoke stops and the coil glows red. Put it all back together and you're good to go. if you have trouble getting the silicone sleeve back on u can put a couple of drops of eliquid on the inside to help it slide back on.
These have always given me good results. The vivi mini I tried was really bad but then someone pointed out that the one I had was a knock-off and not a true vivi mini. I ordered a couple from gotvapes that should be here by Wed. Hope they are as good as everyone says.
Thankis for that tip njay. I have been having a problem with 3 of them getting the sleeve back on. I put them aside and was hoping for this advice. Thanks again.
Well the T2s have the coil higher than most others, it is actually right up inside the mouthpiece. If you chain vape too much I think you could actually burn your lips. Metal would seem to make it even hotter. Too bad, seemed at first like a good idea.
