I'm not looking to spend more money on a new mod or set up, but am looking to get a bit more out of what I currently have. I have been reading anf researching on YouTube, and here is what I am looking at. I'm thinking I want to start using rebuilt coils, probably building single coils instead of dual and keeping the ohms in the .08-1.2 range. Is anyone out there using this kind of set up? Or will I not get anything out of it since I am using an eGo VV battery?

Yes you can do it with any of the Kanger tanks using their old coils.

Here's a video on building using 12 wrap of 28 ga kanthal at 1.8 ohms. Coil Rebuilding

I've used this on my Mini's, Protanks and Aero all going single coil.

Personally I getting 1.8 using 28 ga Kanthal on a 5/64 - 10 wraps but prefer 28 ga Nichrome 80 5/64 - 9 wraps which fires nicely on my Vision twist at 1.5.

The vapor is so much better!

Before you build you should heed the words of the more experienced folks on ECF and grab a meter and do some research. I thought I had a couple coils perfect in the beginning and they weren't when I got them on a meter.

If you are using an eGo VV battery, you really are not ready to go sub ohm, or even much lower than 1.4. This is a dangerous area if you are not informed and using the correct equipment. You need a mod or mech and batteries that are rated for the power you need. Otherwise you can be hurt. A LOT.

Keep researching. There is a way to do it safely. I have the right batteries, a mech and some mods that would work. I have not gotten below 1.2 ohms yet because I just haven't felt the need. Good luck with your vape journey!
