Hi,

I vape with a vision spinner 1300mah with a Kanger Pro tank II with a 1.8ohm coil and the vaping experience is really nice ...

but I noticed that it gets really hot at 4.8V ... what would be the right voltage for that coil?

Is there a chart to figure it out?

I just bought an SVD and I know it would get me more power and I don't want to fry my coils!!

Thanks in advance!

I have your exact same setup. I used the 2.6 Ohm coil that came with the Protank II and ended up frying the coil and eJuice vaping at 4.0 V. This was with a thin banana strawberry eJuice. I think the type of eJuice you're using plays a small part in this too. I use the 1.5 Ohms coil heads now and found not going above 3.3 V to be the sweet spot for me. With your 1.8 Ohms coil, I'd try it at 3.3V and see how it goes then increase it very slightly. Hope this helps!

I have on one juice that i run up to 4.2 on a 1.8 ohm coil but mostly i stay around 3.8 with my 1.8's. Part of it is the juice used and the delivery device. I can run a Boge 2.0 ohm carto in a carto tank at 5.2V all day long and love the taste and TH and vapor but its the only low ohm store bought thing I have found that I can run that high.

Just start dialing it down, or better yet, start at 3v and work your way up until you feel satisfied. Keep in mind that with a 1.8ohm on a Spinner, you are already well beyond the amp limit when you have it set at 4.8v. In other words, even when you have it set at 4.8, the output under load is probably closer to 4.2v. So you are likely to not notice much difference until you get down to 4.2 or so.

The general rule of thumb is to take the resistance of your coil (1.8 ohms) and add 2 to that in order to determine your starting voltage (3.8 volts). You would then adjust up or down from there according to your taste.

IMO, the right voltage for your coil is what you like it set at with that juice. What I do is start low and slowly increase it. When you notice a burnt taste, and you will notice it, back down a bit. That is the most power you can use with that coil, PV and juice combination. Then pick a setting that you like best. If you change coils or juice you need to re-do this process. When the coil gets a bit gunked up from use the power limit will go down.

HTH.

Just curious. Why does it say on my chart that came with my pt2 not to go over 3.3 volts with a 1.8ohm coil?

They are being safe and erring on the side of caution. 3.3 is not going to be too much power for anyone. It is also likely not going to make anyone happy, but at least no-one will be upset.

What would be great is if suppliers told people the way things really worked.

I have the protank and EVOD and yes they do get hot. All the previous posts are spot on. Dial it down and work your way up. Different juices taste better at higher volts. Best voltage range for me is from 3.2 to 4.2 depending on the juice. Anything higher tastes bad and is hard to hit.

Bring Voltage down to at least 3.9
