When the vapor starts to lessen or get weak, or it tastes burnt. I have no idea which device you are using. I use basic ProTank single coil styles (ProTank II, Evods, PT2 mini, etc) I rebuild those all of the time. I have no idea how long they are, but, by using an ohms meter, you can get them right with a little practice. The rebuilt coils can last several months of dry burning and re-wicking.

edit: after re-reading I see you have the dual coils. I think yiou can rebuild those, but someone who has more experience with those will need to advise.

I don't know what your time is worth to you, but you can find coils at low prices which in my opinion don't justify the amount of time involved in rebuilding, unless of course you like to diddle around tinkering with small objects in your spare time. If so, by all means give rebuilding the coils a shot.

The coils last me anywhere from a week to two weeks...at the price I can't justify rebuilding them.

The duals should last you anywhere from a week to two weeks. It could be longer, I've never noticed any loss of flavor or vapor production even after a couple weeks, but at that point I usually switch em out just to be safe. I've been re wicking and dry burning my single coil kangers lately, that's actually really simple to do. I'd like to do it with the duals, but I've mostly got the enclosed wick style ones and I can't get into those without pliers, and I just don't care that much lol. I've rewicked a couple exposed coil duals though, it's a little more of a pain in the ... than the singles, but I haven't even tried them out yet.

If your using these type of dual coils they can easily be rebuilt. I rebuild mine with a 1.8 single coil with an extra bit of rayon wick on top to take up the space. It wicks like a dream and easy to rewick when it's time.

3-4 days for me.

I don't even vape much and rarely take/took Kangers over 8 watts.

I don't know how anyone ever got a week?.... maybe I just like a fresh taste.... :)

Rumor has it, some UK chap used the same atomizer head for 5 months. He said he got vapers tongue three-four days into vaping and never got his taste back from that day on.

D'oh...

Hi, every one. New to this board, but been vaping some 4 years.

It's been my experience that when I started vaping, I was expecting it to be like tobacco smoking. When using the original rechargeable batteries and, supposedly, disposable cartridges (the ones that actually looked like cigarettes), I was puffing on those things just trying to get the tobacco throat hit. That was like "hot-boxing" a cigarette. That overheated everything - the coil, the wick, the juice, the battery, the packing. I got the same result while changing to refillable cartomizers, with coils and wicks lasting only a few days.

When I realized what I was doing, I started working accepting vaping for what it was. - not an exact replacement for smoking, but, rather, its own unique oral experience. I'm not talking for anyone else, I'm just saying that for me, getting away from pulling so long and hard made everything last longer.

Great comment. :)

Welcome.

Mostly you'll know by a "gunky" feeling and less vapor production. Or if the taste is burnt. Just keep using the coil until it feels weak. You'll catch on to what a coil should feel and hit like. You can do things such as cleaning the coils, but as for rebuilding and whatnot, for these kinds of coils they come to about a dollar a piece online (dual coils are a little more, I got a 5 pack for about 7.50). My coils last probably a week at the most of constant vaping without cleaning or doing anything. Sometimes I get ones that may be of lesser quality or a "dud" and I'll toss it after a couple of days.

Hey sorry for not replying back earlier...I have been using a kangertech 1900 mah battery with a kanger mega tank. I have been using the same 1.8 dual coil for about two weeks...but I also use my sigelei in between. I can tell the kangers coil is less vapor production but still hits pretty good. Maybe when I replace the coil I'll have to write down the date so I can tell how Lin they last. I'm going to keep using it till I get the burnt taste. I know fast tech sells a 5 pack for like 6$ lol... Might just order a bunch so I don't have to worry about it.
