Details? what kind of wire ? 30 gage kanthal?

I use 30g and get it here. Resistance Wire 11 wraps on a 1/16" bit gives me 2 ohms. Also, I use cotton cooking twine for the wick as it is sooo easy to thread into the coil using a bead needle (Hobby Lobby).

There are several threads on ECF (as well as u-tubes videos) on how to build a Kanger micro coil. Like anything else, it does take a little practice but the wire is so cheap all you're really out is a little time.

I have been rebuilding my kanger coils for over a year and I use 28 gauge Kanthal 8 wraps on 5/64 or the little blue screwdrivers you get with the china clone atty's and it usually puts the ohms between 1.5-1.8 if that is too low try wrapping 30 gauge at the same number as before 8 wraps it works out to around a 2.0-2.2 ohm range. 10 wraps of 30 gauge will give you 2.5-2.7 ohm coil. I wick with Japanese or organic cotton and it is much better than stock silica for flavor and durability it does require a bit more priming than the silica but lasts much longer and produces better vapor especially if you have an airflow control base. Mind you that these are single coils for protank2 full size not a dual coil head for a newer geni-tank or protank3 the rebuilding of dual coils is a venture I have yet the need to try. Try this out before you go trashing your Kanger stuff I have people that were in the same frame of mind as you and I rebuilt a coil for them and it was entirely different experience for them now they pay me to rebuild coils for them.

I have pretty much switched exclusively to the Aspire Nautilus (mini actually) for my replaceable coil tanks from Kangar.
The BVC coils are so very well constructed---I have never had one actually "fail"
Never need to clean them.
I usually just finally replace them after flavor gets very muted---which for me is more than a month

Kayfun styles are great rebuildable.

I can't imagine the concept of rebuilding the Kangertech dual bottom coil heads. I would need a tutorial for real!! They're soooooo tiny!! And there are two of them !!!

I haven't had many, if any problems with them, fortunately.

oh yeah - its got to be next to impossible (or beyond frustraiting) to rebuild the new ones
and you're lucky you don't get any issues. It just always give me a really muted flavor, often burnt, and it does not provide a good flavorful and clean vape.... maybe its because im a non smoker, so all my taste is in tact lol...

Im having good success with the 0.8ohm improved dual coils, vaping juices on the higher PG side at around 28 watts. The hotter coil and faster wicking juice seem to help flavor. I run a closed off airflow and do mouth-to-lung, so I'm sure the vacuum generated helps wicking as well.

The improved housings arent too bad to rebuild, though they tend to favor vertical coils, where the PT2 style are easier for horizontal. Switching from the Kanger silica to cotton helps flavor, and the 28ga wire is a little more robust vs Kanger's 32ga. The trade off is when you dry hit a stock Kanger, you can get it back to normal...dry hit a rebuilt with cotton and it's back to the "to be rebuilt" bin.

Honestly if you're after flavor, and arent nic addicted where you need your vape with you all day, just go RDA on a VW mod. I have yet to try a cleaomizer or RTA that gets me flavor like my Veritas.

I've successfully rebuilt a Kanger dual coil ONCE, after about a dozen failed attempts, and decided it wasn't worth the effort. I build single coils now to about 1.8 ohms using 30 guage kanthal on a 1.16 bit, with rayon tencel wick (which is a PITA in its own right, but wicks beautifully). I love my KFL+ so much though I'm considering getting a couple more once funding allows after the holidays; if I'm going to rebuild coils regularly I might as well get the flavor production the KFL provides far above and beyond anything I've been able to accomplish with a Kanger.

You are right about a burnt taste IF your power level is cranked too high... and I supposed that makes a difference of your coil ohm. I stick with the 1.5 and keep power turned pretty low. VV 3.2 on iStick. 4.1 on rDNA30 Vapor Shark, 3.8 on Provari. Even then, occasionally I still get burnt, but its only if I have taken too many hard pulls before letting it cool down a bit.

I've been rebuilding kanger heads since May. 1/16" drill bit, 30g kanthal, cotton. As mentioned above, about 8 wraps (9 over 8) gives me about 1.8 ohms every time. I do compress the coil and fire it to check that it heats evenly (after verifying resistance!) Wick it and off I go.

With which button are you trying to adjust the voltage? Make sure you're holding only the left button down until you see the voltage setting (you'll see your puff count first). Then use the +/- buttons to adjust.
