I can replicate what you are seeing in mine. One battery and the screen works but it won't fire, 2 batteries (with one the wrong way) and it won't work at all. I have to ask the obvious question, are the batteries in correctly?

Edit: Also, I am using the same batteries in mine and it works fine. Did you start out with 2 new batteries? Marrying a new pair is important in 2 battery mods.

Sorry, I am an idiot. It appears that I did in fact insert one of the batteries in the wrong way.

The mod is on and working, however not firing strongly with the Nautilus tank.

Is there any info I need to give you in terms of what is on the display? It says 460 NiCr.

I'm am not familiar with using temp control with nichrome. If you are not use to TC then the vape may seem weaker than with kanthal because the device is regulating the power to the coil. With the tight airflow of the Nautilus I can see it being a bit of an issue. The KBox 160 only lets you adjust the temperature when it is in anything other than wattage mode, so you have the option of bumping up the temp. You can also set it to wattage mode and use it like you would an non-TC mod with nichrome (I'm guessing around 15-20 watts?), it will likely give you more familiar results.

I use my KBox 160 with a Top Tank mini using the RBA with a .5Ω SS coil @ 440F. I M2L, so I have a fairly tight draw, and this setup has been working very well for me.

So this mod displays the LCD screen with only one cell in it? Someone please explain how that's possible because I just tried to replicate it and I can't. I don't think this is something I should be worried about, do you?

As far as Nichrome goes.. I would only be using them in VW mode. I use nearly the same temp for that SS coil as you do as well.

Wait till you try the Ceramic Coils.. Those things have to be set between 45 to 60 watts just to get them to ramp up.

If you're using the standard nautilus 1.6Ω or 1.8Ω heads the power device should be set to watt mode.
First change kbox to watt mode, set watts to around 7W adjust up from there until you like what you get.
Temp control will not function correctly or at all using standard nautilus heads.

Yea, mine did with just the one cell, but only if it's in the slot closest to the board and you have to push the button for the screen to come on. I wouldn't worry about what is or isn't happening with one cell, as long as it works as intended with both in.

I'm using it now and it seems to be working fine, I just turned the temp up and it's vaping nicely.

How do I know if it's in watt mode?

Thanks for all the replies everyone.

If you're in watt mode you'd be adjusting the wattage up / down.
The ability to adjust temperature tells you you're in a temp control mode.
Using a standard kanthal nautilus head in NiCr / temp control mode will lead to very short head life / burnt wicking material, at least.
Have you read the user / instruction manual?

Yep, sorted now. Three clicks on the power button and you can change the mode. Can adjust the wattage now.

Thanks for all of the advice everyone.

You've gotten great answers so i won't repost.
However i will say i'm glad you didn't try to fire a dual batt mech mod, because you would have been in for a bad time.
The mod did what it's supposed to do, protect the user. :)
Low resistance usualy means it's a short, or in your case you used temp controll with regular coils. The diffrence is huge.

I stand corrected, You were correct.. I had the cell in the wrong slot! It is the one next to the board.

I should have thought enough to try it in both slots, my bad!
