As some of you may have seen already, I recently got a Kanger Kbox 40 (which I am very happy with) and a nautilus Mini. Usually I run this setup at 13w, but occasionally I do like to turn it up to 20w. I don't keep it there for long, but I do like to go there once in a while. But, sometimes it doesn't fire, and my Kbox curiously blinks its lights at me many times. What could be causing this sort of rebellion?

I suspect it could be my batteries? Admittedly I do use quite cheap batteries, these ones to be precice: $8.14 UltraFire BRC18650 3.7V "3600mAh" Rechargeable Li-ion Batteries (2-Pack) 2-pack - tested capacity 2200mAh at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Those batteries should not be used for vaping, at all.
They are very low quality & inconsistent from cell to cell, ranging from 1.8a CDR to 4a CDR.
If they are the protected variety the PCB trips at 6.8a to 7.2a which is dangerously high for a low drain low amp cell.

Batteries are the very last place to try to save money in vaping.

You can buy 2 quality highly recommended cells from a reputable vendor for around $2 ~ $4 more.

Never order batts from China (in case you're considering it)... the slow shipping and customs requirements add a loooong time to the total delivery. Screw that.

Go to Ecig (dot com), do it now, and buy a pair of Samsung 25Rs for $9. Buy two pair.

They're in Texas and ship out of Oklahoma... you'll have them by the weekend.

(there are about five or six reliable US battery vendors we trust, any would do, I'm just trying to impress on you... DUMP THOSE BATTERIES (recycle them actually) AND GET PROPER ONES.

It's important. ;)

I'm inclined to agree. We have a similar rule in one of my other hobbies that demands quality power delivery, but suppose in this case really bad batteries pose not only the possibility of bad performance, but potential safety issues as well.

Absolutely.

Not saying things will go sideways, but our 18650s pack a tremendous amount of energy.
And we make a habit of pushing them hard.
And if things get squirrelly... it'll be right next to my face.

My pretty, pretty face. :p

Reliable, authentic high CDR cells are stupid cheap... vape safe. ;)
