Not being a fan of box mods myself, the KBox has definitely piqued my interest because of the form factor. Especially because I'm already set up with 35 amp 18650's, charger, etc for my tubes. There is a local B&M that says they will match online pricing. Unfortunately for me, they don't have one in black.

Johntodd, I meant to ask you on the last reply, how does that rayon vape? I have not heard of this as a wicking material yet.

It vapes great! I'm a recent convert, but I can say there is a dramatic improvement in flavor, clouds, nic hit, and wicking over cotton. And it's hard to burn if you dry out.

Here's where I got my info. Excellent thread:

Rayon wick, better flow, flavor, saturation and Nic Hit! | E-Cigarette Forum

Enjoy all 647 pages of it! LOL!

Kbox > IStick 30w.
Kbox > IStick 50w with the exception of battery life, which can be solved easily by carrying a spare.

The button doesn't feel as cheap and has a much better feel and click to it, the body is built more durably, and I suspect they will hold up to the test of time MUCH better (more solid construction and replaceable battery; When the internal battery in your Istick inevitably fails after a year, if it survives that long, it becomes trash).

I own to Kbox's and one IStick and I reach for a Kbox more often. The way I look at it, the Kbox is an affordable box mod while the IStick is like an upgraded Ego.

Not sure if you've made up your mind yet, so in case you didn't. ...allow me too make it that much more difficult.

Not a huge amount of info yet on this, but I have found Kanger Release First Images Of Subox Mini | The Grumpy Vaper on a diff thread regarding kanger discussions.

At $85 and a waiting period not too difficult of a choice & no temp control for a cooler vape if one is in to that. Also I'm skeptical of the ceramic in the tank. I mean if people won't vape a liquid with coloring I doubt they will trust ejuice steeping in Chinese ceramic vs. stainless.

For now the original Kbox (I hope they still make it for a while due to price point) is much more simple and does the job for $20-24 (+ tank cost if you don't have one) & uses direct current at each setting. Unless someone uses exclusively the RBA deck and builds and wants the extra 10 watts I don't see the need with the OCC coil.

I 100% see why they made it and it looks cool & new stuff generates new $$$ flow, but at this price point there are possibly much better options.

I hope to(and most likely will) see it sold as a mod only option also.

Even at that price, getting a $30+(conservatively, considering all the improvements and new rba, new coils) tank leaves the mod at around a dollar per watt with a digital display, magnetic battery cover, usb charging, no skipped watt ranges, way better looks than a kbox, lower resistance firing and more watts. I'd say the price difference is more than justified.

And...color options, to match the tanks nontheless.

Still, if you only had Egos/whatever or mechs/rdas and wanted to switch to something like this, that would be the perfect thing.

But yeah, I already own 2 Minis and 2 Kboxs so it will probably be a hard pass for me. And if it's that stupid little ceramic cup you put the legs into the tiny holes of I'm not a fan of that rebuildable style, nor do i see how that's easier. IMO, the original Mini RDA works a treat. I've pushed it 30+ watts vaping very high VG without much fuss.

Depending on the price of the Kbox Mini though, I may think about hawking one of my regular Kbox's to get one. :p

Looking at the price on that particular website that has the Subox on presale, the Mini Kbox is listed at 35 pounds or like $55. Yeah, for a single battery mod without temp control? No thanks. Original Kbox FTW. Anyone that buys one will be basing it on looks alone, I reckon.

I don't see why people make such a fuss over this. Honestly when I have the option I'd rather just pop a new battery in, vape on, and let my Intellicharger do what it does. I trust that charging my batteries much more than a USB cable and a tiny chip. How's it more convenient to have to remove your atomizer, put it on another mod, track down your wallwart with the appropriate amperage etc etc then just flip a new battery in and enjoy?

It's called options/convenience.

For someone that insists strongly about one way of doing things, you should think about the others that like doing it another way. Not everyone can or wants to haul around extra cells and/or chargers with them throughout the day but most ppl nowadays have a usb cord at their disposal just about anywhere they go.

Kanger has covered just about the whole spectrum of their customer base with one device. They listened and produced.

Some like to drive to the grocery store, park, walk to the back of the store, and wait in like to buy their milk. Others would gladly spend more to buy it at the gas station while their car fills up on the way home. Convenience comes with a cost and this time it isn't even unjustified.

As for the ceramic...can't debate there as I don't have the info, but I think it refers to the shell of the atty as being coated(or made out of) and not the coils.
