I've been seeing promo pictures of the Kanger Mini Protank 2 for weeks now, early reports indicated a removable drip tip like the Anyvape Davide, and the pics pretty clearly seem to show this feature on the Kanger MINI PT2...I just had a look at the DiscountVapors.com site, they clearly state...the new mini 2 PT does not have a removable drip tip.

This is kind of a bummer, was really looking forward to this one...can anyone shed any light on what happened here, and why it's pictured with a removable tip when it won't be sold that way.

Kanger says they are making a design change. Personally I think they are unloading a bunch of metal tipped tanks first before they come out with the removable tip. A lot of the vendors got shafted thinking they were getting the removable tip model only to find out after Kanger screwed them that it is not removable.

If you don't want to wait a couple of months you could always get AnyVapes Davide mini tank or mega tank. It is just as good and also uses Protank and Evod coil heads too.

Good info, thanks Bunn. I picked up the Davide mini a couple weeks ago and it's working well, my only issue with the Davide and the original model Protank I have is the slightly metallic taste, I replaced the supplied Davide metal drip tip with a plastic one...problem solved, and I don't use the Protank at all anymore...very metallic taste.

I have have plenty of EVods & the Davide to get by till kanger releases the updated mini 2...thanks again.

ugh...is this for real?! I was about to buy a lot of these.

Stupid stupid business move. Using their excess mini v.1 caps is exactly what they're doing. Saying otherwise is them calling us dumb asses. They should have sold what people were expecting. They could've used the spare tops with an upgraded base and sold them for cheaper at another time. This is seriously BS, I'm not waiting a few months for the PT-2 minis I was planning on buying. I'll get my own made before I do that. They need to make this situation right or they're going to lose a lot of customers to Anyvape. Over what? $100 worth of brass? Brilliant

I honestly like the LOOK of the mini v.1 top cap better, but I also want the option for removable drip tip. They dun goofed.

I just bought my first Kanger PT Mini II. And lucky for me the drip tip is removable. I wanted to find another one for a spare. All the web sites I see it at still have same note that drip tip not removable. I guess I just got lucky. Although I don't plan on changing it, but nice to know I can if I want.

There was a huge issue with Kanger with the release of the PT2 minis. I now own three - one has a non-removable tip, and two have the removable tips. I only wanted the ones with the removable tips and, wouldn't you know it, the one I don't like was a pre-order from Kanger direct. They offered to correct the problem by sending me the "new" tank top as long as I paid the shipping.

Unfortunately, shipping directly from Kanger costs $24. That's considerably more than the tank by itself. I was willing to pay it once to get it as soon as it was available but not twice to get what I originally wanted.

I think a lot of people are going to hold off on pre-orders because of this if they are VERY specific about what they want.

... sorry... that was the end of my rant.

What I really wanted to say was that I got mine from PotionVape.com and they were really good about it. Perhaps you can find spares there?
