Hello everyone,

I have a new protank 2 and it constantly leaks from the 510 connector. I've tried switched heads, however, after vaping it for 5-10 minutes, I need to tale it off and wipe off the connector on the tank and on my ProVari. It does this with multiple heads, I've tried turning up the volts (the heads are 2.2 ohms - tried from 3.8 to 4.2 volts), the results are the same - have to wipe it down 15-20 times a day, at the same time, there's no flooding of any kind - no gurgling almost ever.

Can this be fixed somehow? I like the tank, but the constant e-liquid in my connector is driving me nuts.

Thanks for all your advice.

I have the same but with gurgling. I spend more time trying to get it to work properly (cleaning, blowing out, readjusting the wick, wiping several mls of juice on a napkin) than actually using it. I am done with bottom coil tanks. They all leak and gurgle for me. I'm glad there's finally a Vivi Nova glass tank. The only problem I ever had with the vivi was that it had a plastic tank.

Sounds like over-wicking. Drawing too hard pulls more e-liquid onto the coil than it can vape, or condensation within the draw tube, excess fluid will naturally find the lowest point (the center airflow hole).

How is the draw? tight? loose? Try a 1.8ohm head, it should heat faster (and draw less current if I remember my ohm calc correctly)

I have 2 Novas as well, the vape is a little too warm for me, but other than that there's no leaking or gurgling. I also have the Kayfun Lite (RBA) - it's bottom fed, but the wick rises from where the wick picks up the liquid to where the coil is, and this is probably why it's difficult for it to flood - same concept as the Nova, I suppose.

Thanks, I will try a lower resistance coil. The draw is the same as when I was not getting any leaks in the connector - perhaps something is wrong with the wick now.

There is a grommet at the base of the atty that is suppose to create a seal. Unfortunately I believe this grommet is not thick enough to prevent leaking.

My solution was to use an additional grommet from an extra atty and double it up. See the attachment.

The green line is where the additional grommet should sit. It's a tighter fit screwing the atty into the base but so far I have no leaking or gurgle.

Hope this helps everyone having leaking issues. I haven't seen this fix widely posted so trying to spread the word. Let me know if it works for ya.

Thanks for the tip :)

But I've started using only RBAs as rebuilding a coil for the protank is next to impossible - tried 5 times and either dry hits, flooding or shorts. Don't have a coil in either one of the heads, so, can't try adding that o-ring.

Using 3 kayfun RBAs now - coils work every time, no leaks or dry hits.

What is going on is the stock build is leaking

Best fix is to get a strip of cotton ball, stretch it out thin, roll it into a long thin string

Pull the head chimney, pull out the crappy silica flavor wick, lay that cotton string across the coil in the channel, put back on the chimney and gasket trapping wick underneath, then clip off the excess with nail clippers, re-assemble and give it a few seconds to wick the juice...the vape yo face off!

Stock coil packs are hit and miss (either they don't wick enough [dry hits] or too much [leaking gurgling])...best and easiest way to cure the leaking/gurgling is to replace those flavor wicks with cotton

Easy fix...step one- throw protank in garbage receptacle. Step two- switch to a good carto tank setup or take the leap to RBA's lol! Protank is a nice entry level atty but theres WAY better stuff iut there IMO. Love my genny's and nothing comes close to vapor/flavor output especially when using ss mesh as there's nothing to burn and create a 'charred' flavor. Looking into a kayfun setup after the holidays cause they don't spill like the gennys do.

Already done :) Have 3 Kayfun Lites. Sophia with a GP SnP tank coming.
But I'll sell the 2 still wrapped ProTank 2s - no sense in wasting money :D

Thanks for the tip, but I switched to RBAs.

sorry but with a tiny bit of "beginner" level tweaking you can actually make the protank type (even EVOD) type bottom coils into vaping powerhouses

Yes if you are advanced enough to be able to work on a genesis type RBA then the protank stuff is easy peasy...but just like me before I tried it I was a bit standoffish...after I tried it and saw how easy it was and how much BETTER the vape is...well...I was kicking myself for NOT doing it sooner

But with that said..there is hardly ANYTHING that can compare to the flavor and vape quality of a properly built and setup genesis atty, or other types of RBA's...did I mention the flavor ERMAHGERD FERBERLERS

Let's not forget not EVERYONE has made vaping a hobby yet ;)

I agree, not everyone can spend money on the more expensive vaping gear. But to be honest, after getting an RBA, which is really made for building your own coils, I tried very hard to rebuild the ProTank coil (tried 5 times), but there's just so little room in that coil deck that it's just a real pain. Getting an RBA is not that expensive any more - clones from FastTech or other places can be had for less than $20. But then, building coils is not for everyone - some people will want to just use and throw away pre-made stuff, and that's just fine. Whatever works, as long as everyone keeps vaping instead of smoking :vape:

My protank leaks and occasionally gurgles too. Daily, numerous times. Only had it for a week and I hate it. Like someone else said, I am not inclined to rebuild anything either. I have rheumatoid arthritis and working on small things that require good dexterity isn't really possible for me. I just want a good glass tank that doesn't waste my juice and is easy to get replacement heads for. Any suggestions?

Sorry, don't have much of an experience except with RBAs and carto tanks. I used to use cheap cartos and tanks (plastic) and they still gave me pretty good taste and vapor. I'm sure that there are many threads about good cartos and tanks. Some of the glass tanks that people rave about are IBTanked and the GP Salt and Pepper tank - good cartos I don't know anything about, but I'm sure that the's plenty of info.
