And only a week old. Seems to be a design weakness. Read some other threads where users had the same issue after dropping their APV, but here it was simply unscrewing it from the mod for a refill. Wasn't overtightened as far as I know.... happened to my wife. Getting the remaining thread out of the 510 connection on the battery was a challenge too, took quite a while.

Looks like SunVapers & DiscountVapers sell the base piece, but both are out of stock. Anyone know where to get a few protank bases?

In the same boat here. Dropped one and it must have just landed right. I believe the threading on the Protank base is its weak spot. I've hunted all over but the only places I know that carry just the base are the two you mentioned. I may order a couple extra when they become available again.

Wow I just purchased a Kanger from Sun Vapers also. In case this happens to me how did you remove the threads from the base?

Thanks for the heads up I will now be extra careful with it and be sure not to over tighten it.

Small hemostats spread open on the inside, jewelry screwdrivers, several gin/tonics, and 30 minutes of profanity

Strange, but I dropped mine this morning. It fell about 3 feet and landed vertically directly on the tip of the ProTank. Was attached to a standard ProVari with an 18650 battery (pretty heavy). No damage. More fumbled fangered the older I get.

2 or 3 days ago, my wife presented me with a vivi nova that had broken off in her vamo (2 year old grandson grabbed it). Took about 2 minutes with a pair of needle nose pliers to get the broken off threads out of the 510 connector.

Same here, think I've been lucky, every time Ive dropped it has been on a carpeted area. The 2 protanks I have live on a vamo and an 18650 mech mod, you're right, makes for a heavy package. Willing to bet all the recent broken protanks have been on larger mods like these, not spinners or ego batteries.

Interesting your viva broke at the thread connector. I've had to replace 2 of the plastic tanks from dropsies, seems they always crack at the bottom tank thread.

I just went to SunVapers now (11:51 Cali time) and it says 'In Stock'. It does have this caveat, "Some of these may have been used for a short period others may be brand new", but does it really matter for a base? Hopefully they still have them when you read this.

THANKS Aussie! Stock must have just come in, they were out yesterday. Ordered, will be stalking the mailman in a couple days :)
