Thinking about trying these due to so many people raving about them but I have one concern.

Since the heating element is close to the mouth piece some people say it can get hot. Needless to say ... inhaling potential chemicals released from heating plastic is not good for you.

There are however metal tips you can buy and I was wondering how hot those tips can get.

It all comes down to how long you inhale. I have two of these devices with the metal mouthpieces in my rotation, and I really am satisfied. I use them during work, and for the price, do a really good job on a regular eGo battery. Like are subjective, so YMMV. Just be sure to have the device clean/dry, and the atty head tight, before using.

I use the T2 regularly at pretty high power levels. Never had any problem with using plastic tips; it really doesn't get THAT hot. But, when vaping above 8 watts the heat generated is definitely noticeable. If it starts to get uncomfortable, you can switch out to one of the new aluminum tips for the T2. That should reduce the heat to a manageable level.

Those are inert plastics, the one on the head is not plastic but silicone, it withstands temps of 360 centigrade (700 something F). Don't worry, no chemicals on those pastics, won't melt.

Aluminum tips look nice.

I watched the video comparing the T2 and two other clearomizers, and the tip getting hot was a piont against the T2. But, i decided to try the T2 and am glad I did. Have been vaping it since Sept 1st and have not found the tip to be getting hot at all. I can vape heavy at times, but im mostly useing standard voltage batteries.

Not sure. Aluminum tips dissipate heat faster than other metals but in hot weather I'm not sure how hot they can get in hot weather or chain vaping.
