I have been a 2-pack per day smoker for the last 40 years. I now am planning on seeing if I can throw these Camel filters away and get into vaping. I was originally going to buy an E-cig that I found on a Chinese website, but was told by members here to not go cheap on vape items.

So, I am now thinking about buying this:

Can any of you folks please tell me if this would be a pretty good E-cig setup for me .... Thanks :)

I use T2s often...and that's all my wife uses. Yet, they are kind of "ancient" technology and you don't hear people on here talking about them often (or ever). The replacement heads, although still widely available, have disappeared from a few vendors sites, so not sure if they are going to stay around. I hope they do.

I would add that they don't leak and (being top fill) are very easy to refill. Also easy to clean and replace the head. There is a least 1 youtube about rebuilding the head, but I can find replacements for 99 cents, so I don't bother.

I am really new at this, so I don't have a clue what the latest and greatest in vapping items are now.

What type / brand of E-cig is now the latest that many here like?

I am looking for something basically like the unit I posted above. Nothing way out of the ordinary.

Thanks,
Ron

The Kanger ProTank 2 mini has been a great intro tank to a ton of people, more durable than the T2's you were looking at. Just as a bit of information, the T3 came out, then the T3s came out, then the MT3s came out, and the E-vod came out too some where in there (all these being plastic beginner tanks from Kanger). I've never had a problem with Kanger stuff. As far as batteries go I prefer a joyetech twist to a vision spinner but they are pretty dang similar.

Best of Luck Friend!

puf ... Thanks for the info.

That adjustable Vision battery looks to be about the same thing as the Joyetech 'eGo-C Twist' I planned on buying except that it has just a little more capacity (1300 mAh vs 1000 for the eGo-C Twist). Other than that, do you really think there is any major difference between the two?

As far as the Mini Vision ViVi Nova, I really don't know anything about these, except that the Nova is not clear like the Kanger T2 Sunfire. I notice they both hold about the same amount of liquid. What would the major advantage of the Nova be?

I haven't ordered my stuff yet, so if I can do better than what I selected above, I'm all ears.

Right now I'm on a joyetech eGo-T with the kanger T2 and I find it perfect for an intro. It's not to much to take in at once. It really helped me with the adjustment from analog as well as not overwhelm me with all this info. Now that I'm a month into vaping, I feel like I'm ready to start stepping up.

I have both Vision spinners (1300 mAh) and a Twist (900 mAh). I prefer my spinners because it is easier for me to adjust the voltage. Much easier to see the markings. If you go with a spinner just be sure to get a Vision. there are some other brands but in my humble opinion they are not as reliable as Vision. I have been using mine for well over a year and they are still going strong.

For my toppers I only have good words for my Kanger eVods. I tried most of the clearomizers on the market. My T3's, MT3's and viva novas are in my maybe someday box. I personally prefer the bottom coil devices such as the eVod but some prefer top coil for a warmer vape. You may want to try one of each to see which works best for you.

I know several venders sell an eVod starter kit for a very reasonable price. Something like this EVOD 650mAh Variable Voltage Blister Pack Starter Kit - MyFreedomSmokes.com might be something you would like to check out.

I have the Kanger T2. In fact I haven't found a decent inexpensive setup that I like better. You can still get replacement heads that work great on the cheap if you look around. The biggest down side is that when the tank gets about half way empty you have to tip it upside down to make sure the wick in the coil is wet enough. I just top it off regularly when I can or just deal with it for the time being.

I have been using the T2 since April 2003. I've tried all the bottom feeders, Protanks, T3's, Bcc's, you name I tried it. Still using the top coil T2. In fact if I can sneak an order past my wife, ( She keeps complaining I have enough stuff) I'll buy a couple more tanks and a fist full of coils.

I use on a Vision spinner (900 mah) and get all day out of it. (buy 2, you'll need them) When it comes to the T2, I could use it for the rest of my life. (so far)

Thanks Jim ... You know, I have read some T2 vs T3 threads, and there seem to be more people that have had problems with the T3 than with the T2.

I think I will just buy a couple of T2s 'Sunfire' Clearomizers and a couple of 5-packs of replacement coils (they come with new wicks attached as I understand) and power it all with a Vision 'Spinner VV eGo' 900mAh adjustable power battery.

Plus a charger and some juice ... that out to get me going anyway'

Congrats on your decision to quit smoking, you have made an excellent choice. I started with a couple of ego twists and tried a lot of bottom and top coil clearos and I keep going back to the Kanger T2. I now use a Vamo and Kanger T2 at home and still use my twists with the Kanger T2 when I'm out and about. I was a chain smoker and am a pretty heavy vaper, this gear will get you off to a great start !!!!

congrats there! if you want my input, and money isnt too terribly much of an option, go for 3 or 4 of those 350mah mini batteries, and get 3 or 4 kangertech mini protank 2's. this setup with the mini battery is only an inch longer tops than a regular cig, maybe 1/2 inch more than a 100 style cigarette. for me, the smaller design feels nice, and i have a few batteries in rotation. if you find the batteries cheap enough, and the kanger tanks cheap enough, this setup sans juice would only run for $75 or so. kangers run better at half full for me, but your mileage may vary. spend another $25 on some nice juices, like uncle junks, or mt baker, or johnsons creek and with the glass tanks youll really see some great flavor.

puf ...

I advanced to having 2 setups ... The one I take with me when I go out is the lightest, and easiest to carry. That's the Kanger T2 clearomizer and a couple of Vision Spinner batteries.

The other setup I use around the house is a authentic Kayfun Lite Plus (v2) on top of a clone Hcigar Caravela mech mod with a Kick 1 installed.

I certainly like the Kayfun, but there is absolutely nothing at all wrong with the little T2 ... It has a very nice flavorful and warm vape!
