Kanger T3 Rebuild/Cotton Mod

The Kanger T3 is rebuildable! I posted this on the T3 review thread, but I thought it might deserve a thread of its own in the modding forum, as I am sure many other have already done wonders with their T3, and can improve on this! (I hope I'm not breaking any rule by double posting this )

I rebuilt the coil of my Kanger T3 today, and put a cotton wick in. It's a little more finicky than the vivi nova, but perfectly doable, and I'm sure it gets easier with experience—the head is actually exactly the same size as that of the vivi. Here are some pictures:

Inserting your coil wires. Same thing as with the vivi nova, except that everything is receded within the ego thread. It's tricky, but it can be done. The hardest part was to insert the silicone sleeve. I ended up lubing it with some PG, and pushing it in using the T3's center post, while two ends of the coil in place. Remember to leave a good two inches length at boil coil ends, so you can keep them out of the way while working inside the ego thread.

Voila! I did this coil with cotton, which works quite well. I imagine that any other wick that has been used in the vivi could also be used there. I plan to try mesh soon, see how it goes.

Bah, I was hoping to see some pics of this, as I just got a T3 today, I like the concept, but the silica doesn't wick nearly fast enough for me, was hoping to try a xs-116/500 mesh combo....

I just tried rebuilding a T3 with cotton braid. It wicks great and vapor is great but the is absolutely no flavor at all. I use cotton braid on my Penny and the flavor is great. Anybody have any idea why there is no flavor with the T3? I got 2.6 ohms and am vaping at 4.2v. Nothing, no flavor.

Try using a 3rd party photo place like Photobucket or Imageshack for your pics so we can view them.

May just need to let it break in a little, I know the 1st tank thru my T3's is horrible, a fter that it's great. Also, did you install "flavor wicks"? For cotton, I guess you'd just twist up another piece and lay over top of the wick/coil assembly, and trim.

For what it's worth, the stock t3 is great imho. I broke my 1st one last night, cleaning it out and nudged a section of coil too hard, and it snapped. After ~170ml. I am totally impressed with these things....

Ive never had any problems with my T3s wicking, but that didnt stop me from trying to rebuild one with stainless. Now if I can figure out how to get it to stop gurgling...
