Kanger T3 tastes bitter, even after cleaning

I just got my first VV and have been loving it. Up until today, it's been great until I noticed a burnt taste that overwhelms the other flavors. I looked up some guides and cleaned my Kanger T3 and used the dry burn method. One of them works much better now, but the other not so much. I'm wondering if the flavor wicks on top of the coil are to blame? One was significantly darker than the other and I don't have any blue flames to clean them like others have suggested. I'm also wondering if there is anything else causing this taste or how long it lasts for some people, because I notice it now even in clean T3's... Not sure what's my imagination and what's real.

Anyways, I plan on buying new silica wick to replace the flavor wicks, recoiling seems too much work when I could buy a new head, which is also an option.

Any suggestions would be great! Just kinda bummed I'm running into some of the problems I had with cheaper starter kits.

Edit: I also read that certain blends don't work well. 50/50 is the max a T3 can handle, apparently. Would mixing blends exacerbate the problem with wicks?

How long have you been using the problem head? Did you rinse after dry burning?

I've only tried dry burning a few times but it seems results can vary - helps sometimes but not always. I did it recently with my T2 and the performance was still lacking so I just replaced the head.

I've heard thicker, darker liquids will gunk up coils faster.

If you're not into recoiling then I'd just try a new head.

Is the "Problem" head rated at the same ohms as the others? Also, is the voltage set too high for the head? There can be a little learning curve using VV.

2.4 ohm Atomizer head +/-0.2 ohm is what is listed for the Kanger T3 clearomizer. I've been tweaking it depending on the juice used. It was used regularly around 3.8-4V. What should I know about resistances? I assumed there wouldn't be much to concern myself with, since it was included with the bundle of VV batteries.

How long have you been using the problem head? Did you rinse after dry burning?

I've been using the two heads roughly 10 days, and yes I did rinse.

I'm leaning towards buying more heads. I want to save money by using ecigs over cigarettes, but this will have to do. I don't need more stress fiddling with things, right now I just need something easy to go to and not resort to analog cigs.
