Kanger TOGO Mini question

I just odered one of these Togo Minis for my sneaky out and about vape to replace my soon to be retired istick mini Ibtanked combo. I also ordered the rba base. Now it says smart box senses the coil type. Comes with a Nichrome and SS. I wonder if its programmed to sense the metal by the resistance. If so I should be able to use a kanthal build???? Also I will probably order some coils for it as the rba will take forever to get to me. Guess I'll have to give them both a try.
